More than seventy percent of the earth is

covered in water.

The water cycle is the process of how different

forms of water move about our planet.

First, the heat from the sun warms the body of

water, turning some of it into gas. Evaporation is when a liquid turns into a

gas.

Then the gas or water vapor cools as it rises and becomes water droplets. Condensation is when a

gas turns into a liquid.

Last, droplets form clouds and collect moisture. The

droplets fall in the forms of rain, hail, sleet, or snow called precipitation.

The water cycle starts all over again and is

ongoing, which is why water never disappears

from earth.
