MIGNOT PLATEAU AND THE VICTORIAN SHOPA fort was originally built on this site on the orders of King Edward III in 1352. The plateau offers spectacular views over the town and neighbouring Islands. Leading back down, is the Victorian Shop and Parlour, an 18th century house restored by The National Trust of Guernsey.

MARKET SQUARE Market Square was built in the 1770s in the then rectory gardens of the Town Church. In 1818, the French Halles and surrounding area was expanded to what you see today.

ALBERT STATUE AND PIERThe bronze statue of Prince Albert, and nearby Pier, were both built to commemorate the visit by Queen Victoria and Prince Albert to Guernsey in 1846.

THE MODEL YACHT POND AND CASTLE CORNETThe Model Yacht Pond was opened in 1887 for Queen Victoria’s Diamond Jubilee. During the First World War, it was used as a French seaplane base. The castle was originally built in the mid-13th century, on an islet, but is now joined to St Peter Port. Enter via a tunnel to explore the five museums and four historic gardens based on 17th and 19th century designs. Please note: visitors will need a ticket to enter Castle Cornet.
