Thank you to all of those families who completed the online survey. We have received some great feedback and ideas that will help us in planning for next year. Just a few ideas that we will be looking into for next year based on your comments include: - holding a second parent information night in Term 3 - sending home a class ‘Learning Newsletter’ at the beginning of each term to let you know what your child will be learning and how you can support them - finding new ways for students to earn commendations - sending home the requisite list for students at the end of the year prior - creating a general overview of the costs of various activities over the year so families can plan in advance. There are a few more ideas, so this is just a taster! We value the input of the families we have here at Wadalba so thank you for taking the time to help make Wadalba a better place for all of our students. Presentation Day Our Presentation Day is to be held on 14 th December. All students receiving awards will receive a letter in the mail. Home Reading 2015 This year Wadalba implemented a brand new home reading scheme. Students were rewarded for every 25 nights of reading that they completed. A huge amount of prizes and certificates were issued! To encourage reading, the school purchased thousands of dollars worth of new books, used new tracking systems and brought in a 'Hall of Fame' where students' names were displayed when they reached 100 nights of reading. Other prizes included house points, lucky dips, stationery items, ice-blocks and extended lunch play. Our home reading champions for 2015 were Natalie McClellan and Zachary Morris, who both reached over 300 nights of reading! Thank you to parents, students and teachers for making this new scheme a success, seeing many more books read at home. Students - the challenge set for 2016 is to beat

your total number of books read this year!

Home Reading Party We had 24 students reach 175 nights of reading this year! These amazing readers were invited to a home reading party on Tuesday, 24th November. We had yummy snacks, cool music, an exciting atmosphere and fun games! Everyone enjoyed themselves and the party felt like it ended far too soon! Congratulations to Noah E, Kadence N, Tallen G, Mackenzie E, Levi B, Ruby S, Zachary M, Ella H, Zoran K, Ellie S, Isabella S, Amelia H, Lily O, Chloe G, Alannah B, Claudia W, Natalie M, Ciara M, Hayley V, Jasmine H, Charlotte R, Rebecca S, Dakota M and Grace K.

If I could travel anywhere in the world it would be: I’ve been very privileged to have done lots of travelling already and I learn so much every time, but I’d love to go back to Africa and Egypt is high on my bucket list! My advice to primary students getting ready for high school: Don’t be afraid to ask for help, there are lots of friendly teachers and students who remember how scary it was starting high school and are more than happy to help you out. Most importantly- enjoy it, there are lots of fun things to look forward to in high school!

Year 7 Transition Day On Wednesday the 18th of November, over 200 students from many different schools attended a Year 7 sport transition day at Wadalba Community School. They were put into groups to bond with people from other schools and it seemed like a lot of students made friends. It was extremely hot but all the encouragement got us through. After all the activities it was time to relax with hot dogs and poppers. It was getting close to the end when the points were revealed. Then the time had come, each team’s points were announced from the sport activities. Team 4 took the win with 11 points. Even though it was a long hot day all who participated had fun. We wish them good luck for next year. By Trent & Sharmaine

OzTag Gala Day On Thursday the 19th November, hard work, sweat and tears were brought out at Gosford. Forty students were driven to Adcock Park for an OzTag Gala Day by our dedicated parents and teachers. Over ten schools participated in different games throughout the day. We all showed great sportsmanship and teamwork. All the encouragement from the spectators got us through. All teams did well, but we think Wadalba did the best. Thanks to everyone for doing their best and never giving up no matter how injured they were or how hot it was and for kids stepping in when needed. Support from other teams got us through the hot and tiring day. There wasn’t one best person, everyone did the best! Thanks to all the parents that drove us there, and supported us!
