Wacky Reading Calendars

by Carolyn Vibbert , Elementary Librarian & NBCT

Risking-Failure.com

About this Product: For  each  month  of  the  year  a  reading  calendar  includes  daily  challenges  that  can  be  completed  in  no  particular  order.  Each  month  has  30  challenges  to  complete.  They  include  reading  specific  books,  genres,  authors,  or  reading  while  doing  quirky  things:  like  sitting  in  an  empty  bathtub  or  reading  a  book  backwards.  There  are  no  time  requirements  listed  for  the  challenge.  They  are  created  strictly  for  fun  and  to  encourage  students  to  read  things  that  might  be  new  to  them.      The  challenges  were  created  with  inspiration  from  obscure  holiday  lists  and  lists  of  author  birthdays  so  the  topics  included  often  have  a  connection  to  things  like  “Take  Your  Pet  to  Work  Day”  or  “Make  a  List  Day.”      You  may  wish  to  keep  these  available  in  your  library  or  classroom  for  students  to  complete  as  they  choose.  Perhaps  you  would  like  to  upload  them  to  your  school  website  so  that  parents  can  download  them.

You Determine the Value:  If  this  item  has  value  to  you  then  you  may  wish  to  purchase  a  Donation  at  my  TeachersPayTeachers  Store.  Only  pay  for  what  you  like!  It  is  part  of  a  new  pricing  model  based  on  donations  made  for  products  of  value.      teacherspayteachers.com/Store/Carolyn-At-RiskingFailure
