The iW PDS-150 uses the iW Scene Controller to control IntelliWhite dimmable, color temperature adjustable fixtures by zones. A zone is a grouping of lights attached to an iW power / data supply which has been set to a specified zone designation. The zone designation of the iW power / data supply defines the zone in which the lights reside. Using the iW Scene Controller, you can set the brightness level and color temperature, from cool to warm, for all lights within specified zones. Zones are created by internally designating each iW PDS-150 as a specific alphanumeric zone, 1 – 9 or A – F. All fixtures attached to that iW PDS-150 reside within the designated zone. For example, in an installation with two iW PDS-150s where the first power / data supply is set to Zone 1 and the second is set to Zone 2, the lights attached to the first iW PDS-150 are in Zone 1 and the lights attached to the second iW PDS-150 are in Zone 2. For installations where all lights are controlled in unison, set each power / data supply in the installation to the same zone designator. For installations where groups of lights are controlled individually, set unique zone designators for each power / data supply. Location of iW PDS-150 in relationship to lights. Refer to the user guide for your IntelliWhite fixture to determine the maximum distance from the fixture to install the iW PDS-150. NOTE: Adhere to all state and local wiring codes when making the leader extension connections. Maximum number of fixtures per iW PDS-150. Wiring the iW PdS-150

After mounting the power / data module, you are ready to connect your IntelliWhite series fixtures.

Connecting intelliWhite Fixtures to the iW PdS-150There are three fuse groups, each having two output terminals on the power supply. Refer to the user guide for your IntelliWhite fixture for the maximum number of fixtures per fuse group allowed.• Connect the fixture cables to the output

terminal connectors. • Ensure that the red, white and black wires

correspond to the 3-pin terminal block notations (See Fig. 4.)

• Snap the terminal connector into the output terminal.

Connecting Power to the iW PdS-150note: It is the end user’s responsibility to use the proper conductors to permanently connect the incoming facility power, and to provide means for disconnecting the system. (See Fig. 5.)

• Connect the incoming power lines to the terminal block located on the power supply.

note: A cable strain relief is required when flexible cable is used for the incoming power source. (See Fig. 6.)

• Connect pig tails to the terminals labeled L (line), N (neutral), and (ground). (See Fig. 6.)

eMi Suppression CoreThe EMI Suppression Core must be installed on the incoming power for effective EMI suppression. Install one round suppression core on the AC power input cable:• Strip the outer cable jacket on the incoming power cable back at least 18

in (457 mm) to allow for three loops through the suppression core.• Pull power cable into the power / data supply. • Insert and pull the line and neutral wires through the center of the EMI

Suppression Core. Insert and pull wires through again twice to form a second and third loop around core. See Fig. 6a.

• Using wire nuts, connect incoming power wires to pig tail wires.• Place the EMI Suppression Core and the associated cables inside the

power / data supply.

Connecting the iW Scene ControllerTo control IntelliWhite fixtures with the iW PDS-150, the iW Scene Controller is required. Depending on the installation configuration, an iW Scene Controller can control one or multiple iW PDS-150s. Refer to the iW Scene Controller Installation Instructions for details.• Install the iW Scene Controller in a single gang wall box within

50 feet (15m) of the iW PDS-150. • Pull the provided iW Scene Controller leader cable into the

iW PDS-150.• Plug the 4-pin connector at the end of the iW Scene Controller Leader

Cable into the connector located on the back of the controller. Plug the other end into the Controller connector located near the Zone Net In connector in the iW PDS-150. (See Fig. 7.)note: The iW Scene Controller provides data to, and receives power from, the iW PDS-150; therefore, no external power supply is needed for the iW Scene Controller.

• For installations that have one iW Scene Controller controlling multiple iW PDS-150s, connect the iW Scene Controller to the first iW PDS-150 in the installation then daisy chain CAT5 cables with RJ45 connectors to the other iW PDS-150s using the Zone Net In and Zone Net Out ports. (See Fig. 8.)Install the provided terminator in the Zone Net Out connector in the iW PDS-150 farthest from the keypad. There should be no more than one terminator for the entire installation, no matter how many iW PDS-150s are used.

rePLaCinG FUSeSwarning: Ensure the power supply is off before connecting or disconnecting fuses. Failure to do so could results in death or serious injury.

Each of the main output terminals is equipped with a fuse. If an output terminal is not functioning, replace the fuse as follows:• Remove the protective fuse cover from the malfunctioning fuse. • Remove the fuse from the malfunctioning fuse terminal. • Insert the replacement fuse into the fuse terminal.
