vvvvvvvvv vvvvvvvv,, vvvvvvvv vvvvvvv,, vvvvvvv VVVVVV1. vvvvvv VVVVV1. vvvvv VVVV,_ vvvv

• YMCA Policies are a working document and are reviewed in line with legislation or industry changes. This review takes place over. a period of 12 to 18 months.

• Initially YMCA policies are reviewed internally by the Childcare Taskforce which is comprised of qualified and experienced childcare specialists.

• This draft document is filtered back to all of our childcare centres allowing staff and families have the opportunity to provide feedback.

• The feedback is compiled into a final Policy by the Childcare Taskforce. At this point it is shared with other external childcare professionals for review .

., v v 7 The policy is then amended to incorporate feedback. vvvv rvvvv f'vvvvvvf/v~he Policy is then presented to the Executive Managers for approval. vvvvvv rvvvvvv

• When a staff member is employed by the YMCA they go through a supervised period of induction where they work through our policies and procedures.

• Twice throughout the year all childcare staff come together for training and then all coordinators come together for a further two training sessions. During these sessions policies are reviewed with staff to increase their understanding of their content and implementation.

v" The Child Protection and Childsafe Code of Conduct was reviewed in July 2011 and staff received training at our Coordinator Training Day on Monday 1 Sth July.

• Staff regularly take part in external training that is facilitated by the OSHC peak body and other recognised Registered Training Organisations such as Children's Services Central.

• YMCA Policies are a working document and are reviewed in line with legislation or industry changes. This review takes place over a period of 12 to 18 months.

At this point it is shared with other external childcare professionals for review.

7 v v v The policy is then amended to incorporate feedback. vv v v rvvvv ;' v v v v v v v~he Policy is then presented to the Executive Managers for approval. vvvvvv rvvvvvv

~ The Child Protection and Childsafe Code of Conduct was reviewed in July 2011 and staff received training at our Coordinator Training Day on Monday 1 Sth July.

• At regular intervals throughout the school terms staff come together at regional meetings and local centre meetings where the relevance of policy is discussed with staff and compliance and implementation is reviewed.

• Staff regularly take part in external training that is facilitated by the OSHC peak body and other recognised Registered Training Organisations such as Children's Services Central.

• There is an expectation that when staff have attended external training they will share their learnings with the larger team.
