history and evolution

1919Company established as Sagar Richards Ltd, based in Halifax, UK

1997Company name changed to Valeo Transmissions Ltd after acquisitionby the Valeo Group.

2001MBO carried out by Bruno Jouan and Chris Elliott to create the VTL Group.

2001-2012Over the past eleven years the Group has evolved from a UK-based sub-contractor to an advanced automotive engineeringorganization offering its blue-chip customers innovative engineeringsolutions, a global footprint, high quality products and services atcompetitive prices. The company has grown organically and througha number of acquisitions, greenfield start-ups and JV partnershipsfrom $13m in 2001 to over $103m in 2012.

2013Business Growth Fund plc. (BGF) invests in VTL Group as a minorityshareholder to support the Group’s growth strategy.

• Additionally, VTL works in conjunction with a world leader in friction technology where customer specifications necessitate the application of a secondary bonded friction lining.
