• Introduction Pre-reading strips –

(reading picture strips from left to right)

It is a pre-reading activity (i.e. taken before the child actually starts

reading). As we read from left to right, in the same way the child will

read the strip from left to right (i.e. child will read / name the pictures

from left to right). We will give the following picture strip.

Strip 1

Flower Mango Ball

➢ Show strip 1 to child & read the pictures from left to right, i.e.

flower – mango – ball. Repeat & ask the child to say.

Strip 2

Ball Flower Mango

➢ Now show strip 2 with the same pictures but in different order, i.e.

ball – flower – mango.

Strip 3

Mango Ball Flower

➢ Now show strip 3 in different order, i.e. mango – ball – flower.

➢ Similarly you can practice with different picture set & later

increase the pictures to 4.

❖ Writing :

• Should be done on slate preferably using a chalk or slate pencil.

Practice writing Zig Zag Lines from 1st red line to 2nd blue line for

2 days each. Child should finish within 20 minutes for writing one

full slate.

• Reciting numbers l to 20.

• Revision of shape Star. (Ask your child to search / identify objects / things of same shape around them)

• Revision of counting objects upto Number 5 (Recognising &

Counting) - Should be able to count any objects upto 5. Parents should give a set of objects & give any number sign upto 5. Child should be able to count the objects according to the given number.

➢ Parents should show different pictures of animals from the picture

books, chart & computer, etc. Child should be able to recognize

and name the animal.

➢ Parents should show the following body parts of animals. Eyes,

ears, nose, head, neck, legs, paws & tail. Mane of the lion and

trunk of the elephant.
