Student Drop Off

The designated area for parents to

drop off students upon arriving at

school is in the parking lot on the

east side of the campus. The drive-

way in front of the cafeteria

(Jefferson Rd. side) is reserved for

buses. In order to provide a safe

drop off for bus students, we ask that

parents who drop off students in the

morning use the designated area.

Contact Information

It is important for our school to have

your current contact information.

Should your phone number or ad-

dress change at any time during the

year, send a note with the new infor-

mation.

Student Planners &

Library Cards

In an attempt to teach organizational

skills, PJH students are required to

purchase and use the PJH student

planner. Planner checks will be

done on the first day of the week,

but will be used on a

daily basis in classes.

Students will have a li-

brary sticker inside the

planner to use when checking

out books from the library.

Students will visit the library

during Literature classes in the

next couple of weeks.

Wildcat Stadium Policy

Please be aware of Paris ISD’s

policy for students during foot-

ball games. Hi-lights of the

policy are listed below.

Students below 7th grade

are not permitted to attend

the game without an adult.

All students will receive a

wristband that they are

required to wear for the

duration of the game.

Students may either 1) sit

with an adult OR 2) sit in

the designated student sec-

tion. Students who are

sitting in the student section

are permitted to leave the

area two times.

Students must have trans-

portation from the stadium

within 30 minutes of the

conclusion of the game.

Cell Phone Policy

Please make sure that your child

understands our cell phone poli-

cy. Cell phones must be turned

off and out of sight during

school hours. Students who use

cell phones without permission

will have the phone confiscated

and the parent can pick up the

phone after 3:35 pm for a $15

fee. If you need to contact your

child, please call our office and

we will gladly get a message to

your child.

Progress Reports

Three week progress reports will

be sent home with students on

Wednesday, September 13. If

you have concerns or questions

regarding your child’s progress,

please contact his/her teacher.

Email addresses can be found on

our website (http://

Stay Connected

At Paris Junior High, we recog-

nize the importance of keeping up

with events, news, announcements, grades,

assignments, and more. We encourage you to

use one or more of the communication tools

below.

PJH Website (http://pjh.parisisd.net)-

Here you can find teacher email addresses,

lesson plans, news and announcements,

and more.

Teacher Email– One of the most effective

ways to communicate with your child’s

teacher is through email. Email addresses

can be found on our website.

Teacher Lesson Plans– Weekly lesson

plans are posted on our website. You will

find information such as conference times

and dates for assignments, projects, and

tests.

TxConnect Parent Portal– Create an

account following the steps listed in the

TxConnect letter (or online) and easily

monitor your child’s grades and attend-

ance.

Text Notification System– Subscribe to

our district’s free text notification system.

You will be notified of school closings,

gent by the district. Visit

senger parent notification” on the right

side of the page.

PJH E-Mail List– Our PJH website offers

a free subscription based email list in

which parents can receive weekly updates

about PJH. Visit our PJH website and

the page.

Student Planners– Ask to see your

child’s planner every day to find

dates for assignments, projects,

events, and tests.

Remind– Most teachers (and coach-

es/sponsors) are using Remind to

send out group text messages about

upcoming tests, due dates, and

events. For information about receiv-

ing Remind alerts, contact your

child’s teacher/coach/sponsor.

PJH Remind– Sign up for school-

wide reminders and emergency infor-

The PJH after school tutorial program, SLAM (Study Like a Maniac), will

begin on Wednesday, September 6. SLAM will be offered each Monday and

Wednesday from 3:45-4:30. Any student needing help in any core subject

(Reading, English, Math, Science, and/or Social Studies) may voluntarily

attend on an as-needed basis. Teachers can also require students to attend if

the student’s average for that class is below passing or the student has missing

assignments. Students may also be required to attend SLAM as an interven-

tion measure for a particular subject. Parents will be notified if a student is

required to attend. Snacks and transportation are provided. For more infor-

mation, contact your child’s teacher or Mrs. Ackley.

Our PISD school board voted to continue to offer free breakfast and lunch for all PISD stu-dents this year. We appreciate their hard work and dedication to our students and schools!
