Initiate passions, build dreams. This slogan is still relevant and it inspires the Golf Québec team to conduct initiatives that will help golfers of all skills levels to enjoy rewarding experiences and reach their full potential.

Golf Québec proudly fulfill its leadership in golf promotion and development. Our activities align with the sport development pillars: discovery, introduction, recreation, competition, and high performance.

Family is a major player in the development of sport participation. Statistically, our numerous programs were quite successful: Golf in schools is now available in 567 elementary schools, 7 intermediate and 72 high schools. http://www.golfquebec.org/en/pages.asp?id=134

Over 75 visits in schools, mobile clinics, and Future Links fieldtrips. http://www.golfquebec.org/en/pages.asp?id=3 $100,000 collected in donations to support discovery initiatives. 14 Junior Golf Development Centres (JGDC) recognized in Québec. http://www.golfquebec.org/en/pages.asp?id=246 82 Future Links coaches are using the program in their junior activities. 93 Community Golf Coaches are trained. http://www.pgaofcanada.com/nccp/index.aspx?l=0,647,1882 25 Golf Fore the Cure events contributed to raising $63,173 to support cancer research. http://www.golfquebec.org/en/pages.asp?id=6 A provincial promotional campaign showcasing the game of golf. https://bit.ly/2HOCAbf

Other great successes From a competitive point of view, the Québec team was covered with gold and silver at the latest Canada Games. Members of this delegation, Céleste Dao and Christopher Vandette, both of Summerlea,

shined in their respective provincial junior and amateur championships. At 15 years old, Christopher even became the youngest provincial amateur champion of all time and was crowned as the Canadian juvenile champion. Leaders of their national junior Orders of Merit, they were invited to join the Team Canada development squad. The amateur Québec team also won the inter-provincial competition and captured the Willingdon

Cup for the first time since 1997 at the Canadian Men’s Amateur Championship. Anne-Catherine Tanguay who grew up in our regional and provincial programs became a golf professional in 2016. In the fall of 2017, she proudly earned her card to compete on the LPGA Tour. At the dawn of 2018, Golf Québec renews its commitment to pursue initiatives that will facilitate the development of golf participation and overall financial health of our industry. As the contribution of all golf establishments and players are key elements to this success, the best way to support the efforts put forward by your sports federation is to get your Gold membership and get out to play more often. This summer, Get Out, Play Golf!

2018 Competitions Raise the challenge of the upcoming golf season

Golf Québec is thankful for the host clubs that are presenting the events of the provincial tours. Their support enables us to showcase the talent of our provincial golfers and challenge them. This summer, a few changes will be noticed. To start with, a new national BlueGolf console will enable players to manage all their tournaments using only one account. It will still be possible to make online donations to support the Golf Québec development program while registering in various competitions.

Discovery The Get Linked initiatives to expand the horizons of future golfers

Building the golf’s future in your club? This can be achieved with the Get Linked initiatives! This spring, reach out to a Golf in Schools establishment and facilitate the transition of children From School to the Golf Club.

The Golf in Schools program is currently running in 567 Québec elementary schools, 7 intermediate and 72 high schools. Very successful, it continues to grow with more and more new children being introduced to the sport in their physical education classes. The next step consists in connecting these children with green grass facilities engaged in delivering junior golf programs. This will give them opportunity to further their sport introduction and develop a passion for golf.

With the “Get Linked” initiatives, it is now possible to strengthen the link between schools running the Golf in Schools program and facilities engaged in delivering Future Links, driven by Acura programs. In school visits Local PGA of Canada professionals and Community Golf Coaches visit schools in their area to build on the existing Golf in Schools programming being delivered. Grants are available to assist with the costs involved with visiting a school. https://bit.ly/2wTUlkC Field trips The Future Links Field Trip program is an initiative to transition Golf in Schools participants to Future Links active sites. These facilities are eligible to receive a grant to assist in offsetting costs involved in hosting a school at their facility. Programming of these field trips will range from a tour of the clubhouse and course to a putting lesson, to time on the driving range.

At Lac St-Joseph, children are proud to test their skills acquired in their Phys. Ed. classes.

Fundraiser Campaign Make a difference! Make a donation!

In the past eleven years, over $700,000 was collected in donations to be invested in golf discovery activities targeting children. As a result, golf has regained its vigour.

Initiatives conducted in the past golf seasons had a significant impact. Since 2009, with the help of generous golfers and corporations, 567 Québec elementary schools, 7 intermediate and 72 high schools integrated the Golf in Schools program to their Phys. Ed. classes. In addition, some sixty Field Trips were conducted in the past two years and an increasing number of golf clubs are adopting the Future Links program. The 2018 golf season is fast approaching. You surely are eager to get out and play golf. And you are not alone! So many children have discovered golf through our initiatives and they just can’t wait to go and test their skills. More children on the provincial courses! This is exactly what we are looking for!

To build golf’s future, everyone can contribute to bringing more children to the golf course This is why Golf Québec must renew its commitment to implement golf discovery initiatives targeting children in their school and municipal environment.

Golf Québec programs such as Golf in Schools, Future Links Field Trips, and In School Visits are the cornerstones of this strategy.

Each year, Golf Québec provides grants to promote Field trips towards active Future Links facilities. A donation to facilitate the transition “From School to the Golf Club” You can help too and make a difference when you register for a tournament or visit our website. Make an online donation and contribute to helping more children discover the game of golf. www.golfquebec.org/donations Your financial support is more relevant than ever. It provides guidance to children and helps promote the inherent values of golf. As a result, you will contribute to bringing children to the golf club and help promote a lifelong tradition of golf participation leading to a healthy and active lifestyle. This is why your donations are vital.

The impact of a donation In the facts, for each donation cumulating $500, we will be able to: • Equip the school of your choice with the complete

Golf in Schools teaching kit and adapted material.

• Organize a Future Links Field Trip in a golf club, enabling many students to have a positive experience on the course.

• Organize an in-school visit with a golf professional, in a special event or city activity.

For each financial contribution of $25 and more, Sports-Québec will remit tax receipts corresponding to the eligible donation on behalf of the Québec Golf Federation as part of the Placements Sports matching program.

With the Golf in Schools program, thousands of children discover the fun of playing golf as part of their physical education classes.

Register your club in the First Drive program

Designed to facilitate access to our sport and participation of families in the game of golf, the First Drive Program invites children of 7 to 12 years old to play for free, at participating golf clubs, when accompanied by an adult who pays his own green fee.

https://bit.ly/2pbvebX Your club surely has implemented activities that are specifically designed to incite more children to visit your facilities. Launched by Golf Québec in 2016, Get Out, Play Golf quickly became an industry campaign. It started with a 30-second television ad to which radio commercials were added along with a social media buzz.

“The goal of this campaign is to stimulate golfers and incite them to play more often – or to start playing again if they had stopped. Golf is quite a fascinating and exciting sport. It is possible to play as a family, with friends or colleagues, in a laid-back yet active environment. It can be a fun social activity and it is adaptable to cater to the needs of all clienteles.
