Say hello to Leo, who was born in 2017. He is going to be the lion of your heart if you let him in. His personality is pretty easy go-ing. He is playful, and then again would love to relax and snuggle with you when it is time to get some sleep.

Like the lions of the safari plains, Leo loves to lie in the sun and calmly watch over you. Better yet, he might just curl up next to you while you watch TV or work

on the computer. The big boss will watch over you if you adopt Leo to your forever loving indoor home.

Leo’s vaccinations are up to date, and he has been neutered. He is also house-trained. If you are interested in visiting Leo, stop by the Wasco Animal Shelter at 5409 7th St. – we’re open 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday-Friday -- or give us a call at 661-758-7240.

The competition level was high last Saturday at the Wasco Elks Lodge where nearly 30 players vied for the “Best Cornhole Team” title and a grand prize -- a custom cornhole game do-nated by Walter Coley. Af-ter hours of intense play, team Shocking Thunder, Ralph Ramirez and Peter Bustos, took home the top honors.

The Orange Heart Foun-

dation hosted the cornhole tournament to help raise funds for the annual 4th of July fireworks show in Wasco.

While cornhole rules relatively straightforward. There are two boards each made of a specific dimen-sion with a hole in the top-center. The boards are placed 27 feet apart fac-ing each other. Two rows of players line up on either side of one board and take turns trying to toss a bean

bag through the hole on theopposite board. Each bagthat makes it into the holeearns three points and onepoint for a bag that landsand stays on the board. The game ends when one player reaches 21 points.

Two vendors were onhand at the event sellingfood to attendees and com-petitors. Options included tasty street tacos with freshly made tortillas fromPonza Verdes or a sandwich meal by Outkast Catering with Chef Manny. “Wher-ever Manny is, I go,” said Kathy Giesy. “This food isthe best!” Outkast Cater-ing donated their time andservices, said Orange Heartmember Orquidea Ocampo.

Several items also were raffled off during the event, including a date-night bas-ket donated by the TigersElite baseball team, two baskets donated by Wonder-ful Company employees,a Coke basket donated bythe Orange Heart Founda-tion, smog gift certificatesdonated by H&H Mechanic Shop, and wine racks do-nated by Aldo Hernandez. When the FFA got the ball and scored two baskets, the announcer be-came more insistent that the alumni had to win the game once again. The biggest win of the night, however, was that not one donkey made a mess on the gym floor. So not only was it an exciting game, it was a clean win as well.

If you are the highest bidder at the auction, you are or may be responsible for pay-ing off all liens senior to the lien being auctioned off, before you can receive clear title to the property. You are en-couraged to investigate the existence, priority, and size of outstanding liens that may exist on this property by con-tacting the county recorder’s office or

LEGAL NOTICES

PASTOR’S CORNER

PASTOR JIM NEAL“He who covers his sins

(wrongdoings) will not pros-per, But whoever confesses and forsakes them Will have (find) mercy.” --Proverbs 28:13

Wise King Solomon penned that truism many, many years ago -- approxi-mately 3,000 years, long be-fore there was a NFL, Roger Goodell or any professional ports. The book of Proverbs

was written for the reason of giving individuals wisdom n virtuously every aspect

of life. What does that have

to do with the thought of the day? Simply this: Over the last several years, dat-ing back to the steroid era of Major League Baseball and perhaps before that, grown, powerful and wealthy men have attempted to hide il-legal activities. When the truth began to unfold they then attempted without suc-cess to deny their involve-ment, and even some would make a weak effort to blame someone else.

Is it only me, or does there seem to be a pattern unfolding -- a common

thread through all of these challenging circumstances, from illegal steroid and drug use to spousal and child abuse. The common denom-inator appears to be the pro-pensity to try and “sweep” wrong doing under the rug through whatever method seems plausible and most believable to the public. The methods range from out and outlying to justifying the wrong with whatever story fits. The amazing thing is that the more it happens the more the common thread is applied and used.

Lest we think this is something new, shall we think again. This tendency to try and finagle our way out of things goes way back to the Garden of Eden and our ancestral father Adam. When he was caught “red handed” in his sin, he took it like a man and “blamed it on his wife.” Throughout all of recorded history, we can find example after example of this dilemma of the hu-man race. And almost with-out exception the “cover-up” causes more heartache than the mistake.

We seem to forget that

one cover-up leads to anoth-er, and before long we forget what we said and to whom and the tangled web is soon too large and “sticky” to work our way out of the quandary. There is also an ancient teaching that says, “Beware your sin will find you out.” The thought of the day and this ancient teach-ing should be “road signs” enough to keep us from try-ing to cover up a wrongdo-ing; however, unfortunately, it doesn’t and won’t as long as ingenious man is prowl-ing around saying, “My situation is different.” It may be different, but it still looks and smells the same, doesn’t it?

Look again at the “thought,” and focus on the second part: confession and forsaking leads to mercy. Those who have taken that road have found out that even though there are rami-fications for sure, most men and women are eager to for-give and to extend the olive branch leading to a second chance to make good.

After all, are we not so

wired with a conscience --when wrong is done and weknow it -- the conscience issupposed to spring into ac-tion. What ever happened tothat aspect of our makeup?Lots of lying and covering-up will lead to a consciencethat becomes insensitiveto wrong and can even callwrong right; the Bible re-fers to that as a “searedconscience,” as one that hasbeen rendered unresponsiveby the burning of a hot iron.

Stop a moment and giveyour conscience a chance tocatch up. Is it clear, cleanand pure? Are there a cou-ple of episodes that needclearing up? If so, remem-ber to clear them up is tofind mercy and grace -- andisn’t that a better “neighbor-hood to live in? It is saidthat a guilty conscience is“that part of a young boythat causes him to tell to hismother -- just before his sis-ter does.

Have a great week find-ing mercy and grace.

NO-TICE TO POTENTIAL BIDDERS: If you are considering bidding on this prop-erty lien, you should understand that there are risks involved in bidding at a trustee auction. You will be bidding on a lien, not on the property itself. Placing the highest bid at a trustee auction does not automatically entitle you to free and clear ownership of the property. You should also be aware that the lien being auctioned off may be a junior lien. If you are the high-est bidder at the auction, you are or may be responsible for paying off all liens senior to the lien being auctioned off, before you can receive clear title to the property. You are encouraged to investigate the existence, priority, and size of outstanding liens that may exist on this property by contacting the county recorder’s office or a title insurance company, either of which may charge you a fee for this infor-mation. If you consult either of these resources, you should be aware that the same lender may hold more than one mortgage or deed of trust on the property. NOTICE TO PROPERTY OWN-ER: The sale date shown on this notice of sale may be postponed one or more times by the mortgagee, beneficiary, trustee, or a court, pursuant to Section 2924g of the California Civil Code. The law requires that information about trustee sale postponements be made available to you and to the public, as a courtesy to those not present at the sale. If you wish to learn whether your sale date has been postponed, and, if applicable, the rescheduled time and date for the sale of this property, you may call 916-939-0772 or visit this Internet Web site www.nationwide-posting.com, using the file number assigned to this case 18-106. Infor-mation about postponements that are very short in duration or that occur close in time to the scheduled sale may not immediately be reflected in the telephone information or on the Internet Web site. The best way to verify postponement information is to attend the scheduled sale. The un-dersigned mortgagee, beneficiary or authorized agent for the mortgagee or beneficiary pursuant to California Civil Code 2923.5(b) declares that the mortgagee, beneficiary or the mortgagee’s or beneficiary’s autho-rized agent has either contacted the borrower or tried with due diligence to contact the borrower as required by California Civil Code 2923.5. 2923.54. (a) A notice of sale filed pur-suant to Section 2924f shall include a declaration from the mortgage loan servicer stating both of the follow-ing: (1) Whether or not the mortgage loan servicer has obtained from the commissioner a final or temporary order of exemption pursuant to Sec-tions 2923.53 that is current and valid on the date the notice of sale is filed. (2) Whether the timeframe for giving notice of sale specified in subdivision (a) of Section 2923.52 does not apply pursuant to Section 2923.52 or 2923.55 Date: 1/29/2019 FORECLOSURE SERVICES, INC.
