VMHC 2021 Diversity Equity & Inclusion: Real Impact for the Real World 4 | P a g e
WELCOME FROM THE CONFERENCE COMMITTEE
Welcome to this year’s Volunteer Management Hybrid Conference, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion: Real Impact for the Real World.
We are thrilled to be offering our Hybrid Conference in a truly “hybrid” delivery model, giving our hosts sites the option to host in-person, virtually or both to reach as many participants as possible during these fluid pandemic times. We are proud to welcome registrants from around the world including the United States, Canada, Africa, Australia and the United Kingdom.
As we look at the headlines today is it obvious that Diversity, Equity and Inclusion is relevant. Working in volunteerism, it is necessary for us to continue to grow our understanding of how we can make our organizations more inviting spaces to work in and safe places for collaboration, connection and creation. In planning for the conference this year, our vision is to:
• provide you with practical and tactical resources; actions tactics and best practices that can be used in the real world
• and to support you in advocating for embracing DEI practices in your organizations; understanding how we can satisfy our missions better by embracing diversity, equity and inclusion
We hope that you enjoy the conference and leave feeling inspired and armed with practical resources as you venture into your Diversity Equity and Inclusion journey with your organizations and on a personal level.
