INTRODUCTION•Hotel is a place where a bonafide traveler gets shelter, food & and other facilities for a pay, provided he is fit in a condition to be received by the hotel. Basically hotel is a place home away from home, where it caters & also provides shelter & various other facilities

OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY•To know the organizational aspects of a five star hotel.

•To study about the organization structure and it’s functioning.

•To familiarize with different departments and responsibilities of various departments and department heads respectively.

•To analyze the strength, weakness, opportunities and threats of the organization

•Due to busy schedule of Managers, it prevented lengthy discussions.

COMPANY PROFILE•The Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL) and its subsidiaries are collectively known as Taj Hotels Resorts and Palaces and are recognized as one of Asia's largest and finest hotel company

FINDINGS• High qualified, skilled and hardworking labor force• Vivanta by Taj Malabar is having a very good reputation among the people.

• Even though the Hotel is providing good quality service, the expenses charged are high.

• Vivanta by Taj Malabar is equipped with adequate number of staffs to meet the service needs of the customers

• The Hotel is having good quality and hygiene environment.

FINDINGS Cont.• The various departments of the Hotel are interlinked through computerization. This integrates the functions of the Hotel and facilitates smooth functioning. TCS cloud computing is being used.

•The Hotel takes systematic measures for the safe disposal of waste materials.

• Maintaining a good relationship between management and employees.

•Campus connect program to recruit students from various colleges

SUGGESTIONS•Taj should implement an automatic check-in system to cater to business travelers’ demand for efficient and fast service. Check in using phone, where the customers receive room number.

•Annual medical checkup for all workmen and employees can be done free from organization side.

•Implementing a refer-a-friend program will continue to drive demand for TAJ Hotels. People who are referred by friends are 3 times likely to buy in than others. Give loyalty points to the Referrer and Referee.

SUGGESTIONS Cont.•Since the technologies are changing day by day, the hotel should ensure that they are getting updated with the changing technologies, like changing the ordinary bulbs to LED, changing LCD Televisions to LED.

•Tour packages which includes packages to Kumarakom, Munnar, Alappuzha etc
