Intra School Chess competition
An Intra school Chess Competition was conducted for students of
Grade III to Grade VI.
Dental check up
„Every tooth in a man's head is more valuable than a diamond‟, goes the
adage, so to create healthy dental habits. The school had conducted a
dental check up for the students of Grade I - VI
Aashadhi Ekadashi
„Hari om vittala‟ was the chant heard in the school on the occasion of
Aashadhi Ekadashi. Our students of pre primary had carried out a
procession of Dindi which was taken around to all the classes.

Guru Purnima
„It is the supreme art of the teacher to awaken joy in creative expression
and knowledge.‟
Guru Brahma Guru Vishnu Guru Devo Maheshwara.
The occasion of Guru Purnima was brightened by informative talk,
stories, and PPT by the teachers. Miss Shamika Shetty student of Grade
VI gave a short speech highlighting the difference between Gurukul
system and today‟s educational system and the respect given to a
Guru.

Voting for student’s council
„Harmony and Excellence unites a school.‟ And to achieve this there
have to be leaders to lead the school. Hence we at Orion selected some
candidates of standard V and VI to take up the leadership and to carry
out the duties as office bearers.
The selected students of the student council started their election
campaigning by visiting all the classes and seeking votes with their
manifestoes.
Keeping this in mind we at Orion strive our level best to make our little
ones responsible for a bright tomorrow. Voting for student‟s council
took place, where in the students of standard III, IV, V, and VI voted for
their eligible candidates.
The selected students of the student council started their election
campaigning by visiting all the classes and seeking votes with their
manifestoes.
Investiture Ceremony
“Education should consist of a series of enchantments, each raising
the individual to a higher level of awareness, understanding and kinship
with all living things.”
Keeping this in mind we had our Investiture ceremony beginning with a
parade by the appointed student leaders, followed by the Principal and
coordinators.
Welcome speech was given by our teacher .The ceremony began with
the lighting of lamp and a Prayer sung by our school choir.
The elected students were conferred with the titles & batches followed
by an oath taking ceremony.

Field trip of std. III & IV
Field trips play a vital role in education. They provide opportunities for
the pupils to improve their observation skills, enhance vocabulary,
understand and experience things in real life situations. Besides these
field trips make learning more interesting and enjoyable and leave a
lasting impression in the minds of the children.
Students of standard III and IV were taken to Nehru Science Center. The
Students were thrilled to be in the dome theatre. They were all amazed
to see the movie titled „Adventures of California‟. They also observed
and experienced the various areas related to science such as Magical
mirror ,evolution of the Universe , Evolution of reptiles, Invention of
wheels kaleidoscope, gravitational force, pre historic life, climate &
seasons etc. Students were also taken for the 3D show on „Information
of Stone Age‟ where in they enjoyed wearing 3D glasses.

Field trip of std. V & VI
Students of standard V and VI went on a field trip to BNHS where the
students got a hands-on experience by going through a nature trail.
“The beauty of the natural world lies in the details.”
The BNHS Nature Reserve is a verdant, lush patch of forest, thriving
with natural life of all kinds. The field trip included a combination of
theme-based outdoor activity (a nature trail) and indoor activity (a
PowerPoint presentation by one of the BNHS guides.)
On the Nature Trail, the students were first led to the butterfly garden
and the students were shown flowering plants that attracted various
kinds of butterflies. He also showed them how to identify the butterflies.
The students got an opportunity to observe a white spider that waited
on a flower to devour the butterflies.
Then the students were taken on the leopard trail, treading through real
forest where they could encounter various types of plants and animals.
The guide encouraged the students to locate interesting things and
asked questions about them. Various unique plants like the Indian
ghost tree, Cup and saucer plant, basket shaped fungus, coral
Mushrooms, the plant that produce bio diesel, wild turmeric etc were
pointed out and their features were explained to the students. The
children were also made to walk across the cold water streams. It was a
wonderful learning experience for the students.
Handwriting Competition
Students were given a paragraph to write. The topic of which were as
follows
Std. I – Our dear God
Std. II and III – Good manners
Std IV, V and VI – Panna the faithful nurse.
Achievements Our Orion’s who have made us proud.
