One Day Workshop on Prototype Designing was held on August 8, 2015,

Organized by Department of Instrumentation Engineering at Shri Guru Gobind Singhji

Institute of Engineering & Technology, Vishnupuri, Nanded.The workshop started with

inauguration function in presence of Hon. Director Dr. L. M. Waghmare. The workshop

was planned and coordinated by Dr. R. S. Holambe. Eminent experts from different

organizations glorified the workshop.

The inaugural function of the workshop was held at 9.00 AM in I2 Lecture Hall

of the department, in presence of expert Mr. Ambadas Chaudhari, Senior Technology

Architect, Infosys, Pune, Satish Chandra, Deputy Project Director, Kolte Patil

Developers, Pune, Kiran Garje, Scientist 'D' DRDO Pune and Dr. L. M. Waghmare,

Director of the Institute, Dr. V. G. Asutkar, Head of the Department and Dr. R. S.

Holambe Workshop Coordinator. The workshop has two sessions dedicated for the

theoretical aspects and practical aspects respectively. During this workshop project

Department of Information and Technology organized a one week workshop on “Data mining using STATISTICA” during 5th

-10th

July 2016. Professional experts from StatSoft India Consultants / Trainers will conduct this six-days course which is designed to

provide the concepts and experience necessary to begin data exploration, data preparation, analytical modelling, and model

deployment problems using STATISTICA Data Miner. The course will focus on providing hands-on experience with the different

ways in which each of these problems can be solved.

In Collaboration With ITIE, Academy Bangalore

The Department of Information Technology has organized a One Week STTP on Python Programming during 12th

– 17th

August

2016 under TEQIP-II and funded by Python Foundation, USA in collaboration with ITIE Academy, Bangalore. Dr. B. M. Dabade

inaugurated the function along with Dr. A. B. Gonde and the chief guest Mr. Sanjeev Kubakaddi, ITIE Academy Bangalore.

The IT Dept. received USD 550 from PSF towards offsetting fees for registered students. Total number of participants registered

were 103 including Undergraduate students, Post Graduate students and Few Faculty members.

Introduction To Python Programming

Mr. Sanjeev Kubakaddi started the session with instructions for installation of Enthought Canopy on Windows platform. He

conducted complete session on Hands-on. Mr. Sanjeev Kubakaddi started his lecture explain what is python, where it is used for, why

it is used for and what are the advantages of python over other languages, He described the scopes of python and how students can

use this in their final year projects. After that he started with basic programming with python, importance of indentation and the

errors that arise due to wrong indentation, how to print a statement or variable, Then he proceeded towards the various types of

operator python has. Arithmetic, comparison, membership etc.

All the participants were following Mr. Kubakaddi’s commands and very happy with the ease of using python commands

Mr. Sanjeev Kubakaddi started the 2nd

half of the session with some assignments regarding Assignment operators. Everybody were

doing their assignments very minutely and Mr. Sanjeev Kubbakaddi checked all the systems. The response was really very good. Mr.

Sanjeev Kubakaddi then started the various types of data types python has and explained them one by one. string, tuple, dictionary,

tuple etc. After explaining he went into the operations of the data types of the python like concatenation, extracting, modification etc.

the exceptional case of tuple was also discussed. All the participants were following Mr. Sanjeev Kubakaddi’s commands and he

concluded the session by giving a quick wrap up of the total day’s discussion.

Introduction To Python Programming Mr. Sanjeev Kubakaddi started the session with assignments in data types. Students were doing those very seriously.After the

completion of the assignments he started his lecture on Day 2 session by explain what decision making, loops is and loop control

statements and described its importance. The he moved to basic syntaxes of the various concepts –if else, if elif else, for, for else,

while, while else etc.After that he started explained various examples of the above said and the total session was on hands on. The

decision making, loops and loop control statement was concluded before lunch.

arguments of functions with examples and students were asked to do hands on.

Introduction To Python Programming

Mr. Sauradip Roy started the session by checking the assignments given to the students last day. After the completion of the

checking of the assignments he started his lecture on Day 3 session by explain rest part of the functions namely the anonymous

functions with examples and gave two assignments to the students. They did it very with a great enthusiasm.After that he started

importance of libraries in python and how can one make his own library.And import it. The concept of module was taught and

students were given an assignment to make their own module before lunch. Before lunch the assignment was completed by the

students.

relationship and overriding with hands on examples. Like last day assignment on class was given.

Introduction To matplotlib

Mr. Sauradip Roy started the session by explain the importance of graphical plotting in current industry scenario. He explained the

basic commands that are used in matplotlib. After that direct hands on started with the students doing the plots as instructed by Mr.

Sauradip Roy from the scratch. Plotting a graph, showing, labelling, giving legend, subplots, colouring, attributes of the commands

etc. were taught. An assignment was given and the students did that hands on. After that some complex commands were taken like

pie and bar and they were explained hands on from scratch.

Introduction To GUI using TKinter

Mr. Sauradip Roy started the session by explain the importance of graphical user interface and its scopes. He explained the basic

concepts and parts of GUI programming like root window, widgets, packing, anchoring, class concept in GUI.

After that direct hands on started with the students

creating the widgets as instructed by Mr. Sauradip

Roy from the scratch. Changing the attributes of the

GUI widgets, entering data and taking data to the

Widgets were taught. An assignment was given and the

students did that hands on. This session was very

interesting as the students were able to apply the

concepts of class practically here.Finally the day ended

by a quick wrap up and explaining scopes of GUI.

Finally the session was concluded by a brief wrap up of the whole day’s discussion.

A One Week workshop on “Project Assignment” by Mr. Waman Sanap, Director, Ipac Automation pvt., ltd., Pune was arranged by

the Department of Instrumentation Engineering on July 18th

-23rd

, 2016.

The workshop was started with inauguration ceremony including brief introduction and felicitation of Mr. Waman Sanap by Hon.

Director Dr. L. M. Waghmare. Then after very first session is started immediately. The students of Final year B.Tech attended this

workshop. This activity was sponsored by TEQIP-II.

On Day 1, Mr. Waman Sanap explained the role of documentation in regards of project assignment and completion.

The Day 2 is engaged by expert with explanation on P&ID design, Instrumentation index sheet, Data sheets, I/O List, Instrument

hook-up diagram, Cable schedule and JB schedule, Cause and Effect diagram, Schematic loop diagram, Instrument tray layout.

The Day 3 started with the introduction of Mr. Shrikant Madde, Ipac Automation, Pune, followed by his felicitation. Then after

immediate first session delivery was started by him. In this session expert has covered introduction to detail engineering, study of

design inputs, preparation of instrumentation index sheet from P&IDs. After lunch a hands-on practical session on the topics covered

in first session was carried out till 6.00 pm.

It gives us immense pleasure to inform you that, Department of Chemical Engineering of Shri Guru Gobind Singhji Institute

of Engineering and Technology (SGGSIE&T), Nanded has conducted one day workshop on “Industrial Practices and innovative

trends in Chemical Engineering”, dated 27th

August 2016, Saturday under the edges of Technical Education Quality Improvement

Program Phase II (TEQIP-II) and Chemical Engineering Students council (CHESA).

The workshop has the primary objective as faculty interaction and improvement in liaison with the experts from the well

known CSRI Laboratory of India i.e. Indian Institute of Chemical Technology (IICT), Hyderabad, which established in 1944, is a

constituent laboratory of Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), New Delhi. With its expertise in chemistry and

chemical technology, it provides solutions to challenges faced by Industry, Government Departments and Entrepreneurs through

basic and applied research, and process development. It is internationally recognized for its contributions to chemistry research and is

an ideal place for taking ideas to commercialization through state of the art research and development.

The second important objective of the workshop is to inculcate the research activities in faculty as well as in students of

chemical engineering department. Workshop provides an overview on the topics which covers the industrial practices and its

development section. The research activity importance for the development of quality products with the optimal resource use is

oriented to the participants, through the example of water treatment industrial development with new technology addition. The

betterment of industrial current practices and innovative trends in water treatment facilities which and more elaborated by the experts

in their talk. Any industry work on the basis of quality improved in existing product through the research and proper application. The

pilot plant application plays an important role in the development of industrial part. Overall the expert talk was around the research

ideas which can be developing through the pilot plant application and then can be commercialized with the minimum cost input and

improved quality.

Civil Engineering department Organised A three days Training on "A project Management Tool" during 26th

-28th

August 2016 at

SGGS IE&T, Nanded. The aim of the workshop was to give fundamental information about project management techniques and

different tools used in PRIMAVERA. The training includes the following topics:

-Introduction to Project management

-Introduction to Project management tools (Primavera)

-Hands on practice on primavera

The overall goal of the training workshop was to introduce the students to new management tools and techniques useful in the

professional field. Additionally, training gave the insight in handling the problems regarding the resource allocation, scheduling, and

levelling. The person in charge was Mr. Akash Tilokani. The workshop was opened at 12:30 pm with welcome statement of HOD,

Dr. Rajurkar followed by coordinator Dr. M.L.Waikar.

Workshop Sessions First Day: (Friday 26/08/16) There were two sessions first one was on brushing up of theoretical concepts and followed by its actual use in the software. On this

day students had preliminary exposure to different toolbars in PRIMAVERA. Mr. Akash taught various management skills that are

required in construction field. And some doubts regarding theory were cleared.

Second Day: (Saturday 27/08/16)

On second day Mr. Akash taught how to create networks and allocate various resources in the software in the first session of the day.

Students practised the same during the second session of the day and at the end there was a small discussion on the doubts they had

while handling the software. An assignment was given to the students.

Third Day: (Sunday 28/08/16)

Students continued the assignment and had a discussion on doubts

they had while solving the assignment. On the second session Mr.

Akash taught how to level the resources and update the networks.

At the end of the workshop there was a vote of thanks followed by

feedback session.

All the students participants interacted with Mr. Akash and cleared

all their doubts. In the feedback session, all the participants

expressed their satisfaction about the course contents and the

expert resource person as well.

Dept. of Textile Technology organized TEQIP-II sponsored expert lecture on "Carpet Manufacturing and Man-Made Fibre

Spinning". Mr. Ashok Swamy, GMATE Mumbai was invited to deliver these lectures during 10th -12th August 2016. Mr. Ashok

Swamy has a wide experience of 30 years in "Carpet Manufacturing and Man-Made Fibre Spinning". During his lectures, he talked

about different processes of manmade spinning and melt spinning. He also discussed the technical details of carpet manufacturing

and new emerging trends in carpet manufacturing along with its scope in the near future. Mr. Ashok Swamy has travelled around 30

countries and he shared all his experience among all the students so that they understand the basics of business etiquettes. Finally, he

discussed the requirement of the industry and its expectations from the academic institutes and its students. He explained a few points

useful for preparing for the interviews and conducted mock interviews for demonstration purpose.

Around 65 students from S.Y., T.Y. and B.Tech. participated actively in this lecture series. All the students expressed that

these lectures are helpful to them for upgrading their knowledge about melt spinning and carpet manufacturing as well as to

understand the industry perspectives and expectations. All the students reported positive feedback about the lecture series and the

resource person.

A two days workshop on 'Tall Buildings Design' has been successfully organized during 17

with the Civil Simplified, Bengaluru. Thirty two participants attended the workshop. This workshop was useful to FY M.Tech.

(Structures) students as we are offering this course as elective for these students. This workshop is developed by alumni of IIT

Kanpur with focus on outcome based learning and involve students to take up real life problems for their dissertation work. Useful

Lecture and Practical Sessions were engaged during the workshop. Total expenditure incurred for this workshop is Rs.56,200/-.

The members of the company received us at the entrance and gave a brief introduction about the company. We saw the

manufacturing department of the company with one of the employee of the company. He told us about different departments of the

manufacturing devices like core and function generator and a dc power supply. He also introduced a pcb machine to all the students

with some demos and with good explanation. After we were moving to assembly department where the machines get assembled. We

saw many more machines that are used in the manufacturing of the CRO's, Function Generator, power supply. Then, We saw the

small programmable PCB prototype machine that was developed by one of the engineer of the company. He saw us one demo about

how to design a small PCB on that machine.

After that we moved to the Nvis industry which is sister company of the Scientech Technology. There we saw the manufacturing of

the Digital Millimeters and many other trainer circuits like op-amps and three phase power supplies and many other devices that are

specially developed for the students. We also saw the mechanical assembly of the various parts of the CROs and multimeters.at the

end we asked the questions to the HR and other engineers about various technical aspects.

INTERACTIVE SESSION WITH H.R.

Firstly students had interactive session with company HR in conference hall. We, the faculty members then discussed how to become

a well trend employee, about value addition of product, technology behind advertisement and also discussed about interview section

with HR. The HR Manager told us to have an honesty and be ready to learn and share knowledge. “KEEP LEARNING REST OF

THE LIFE”. We had a great discussion with her and we all were motivated with her inspiring words.

This was very successful visit as all the 40 students from SY ENTC Class were happy that they could learn various technical

concepts and technologies.

Three Days Industrial Visit at Kolhapur

Day 1: Indo Count Industries Ltd., Kagal, Kolhapur, 11th September, 2016

Indo Count Industries Ltd. is a textile industry located in Kagal MIDC, district Kolhapur in the Indian state of

Maharashtra. This textile industry completed all bleaching, dyeing, printing and finishing of material using the latest technologies and processes. Indo Count produces 14,000 tons of combed cotton yarn per year. Indo Count Source the best cotton from India and around the globe and use state-of-the-art equipment and processes in their three spinning plants. Indo Count has 80,016 spindles at Kolhapur, Maharashtra.

The 44 students from Third Year Instrumentation Engineering Department along with three faculty members were visited Indo Count Industries Ltd. Plot No- T3, MIDC, Kagal, Kolhapur on 11th September, 2016. The visit was started with warm welcome by Indo Count Industries Ltd., Kolhapur. After that the students are divided into two different groups (22 students each) for the sake of convenience leaded by one faculty member. This activity was coordinated by Mr. Kale, Assistant Engineer, Indo Count Kolhapur & Mr. Mugtekar, Assistant Engineer, Indo Count, Kolhapur. The visit was concluded with photo session and vote of thanks given by one of the faculty member.

Outcome of visit- Every student personally visited different sections of Industry and understood the instrumentation used in textile industry, working principle of various instruments used like-

Kolhapur Zilla Sahakari Dudh Utpadak Sangh Ltd.well known with its popular brand ‘Gokul‘ is an Operation Flood cooperative dairy project established on 16th March, 1963. Since then achieved many land marks in Milk Procurement, Extension, Animal Health, Breeding, Milk Processing, Product making and Marketing. At present Gokul has modern 7 Lakh Liters/day capacity dairy plant with 4 owned and 1 hired chilling centers having 4.25 Lakh Liters/day milk handling capacity with modern Packing Unit at Navi Mumbai. For milk production enhancement in milk shed gokul has presently 41 Mobile veterinary routes, 430 Cluster and 17 static A. I. Centers, A state of the art new 300 MT/day capacity Cattle Feed Plant with popular ‘Mahalaxmi’ brand is operational at Kagal-Hatkanangale Five Star MIDC. September, 2016. The visit was started with warm welcome by KOLHAPUR ZILLA SAHAKARI DUDH UTPADAK SANGH

LTD. (Gokul Dairy Plant), Kolhapur. After that the students are divided into two different groups (22 students each) for the sake of

convenience leaded by one faculty member. This activity was coordinated by Mr. Anil Swami, Manager Engineering section, Mr.

Patil , Engineer & Mr. Kamble, Engineer, KOLHAPUR ZILLA SAHAKARI DUDH UTPADAK SANGH LTD. (Gokul Dairy

Plant), Kolhapur. The visit was concluded with photo session and vote of thanks given by one of the faculty member.

Outcome of visit- This visit provided students the brief insight of Dairy

Plant.

Students are exposed to the working of delicate systems used in food industries like -37ᵒ cooling area control.

The students are able to understand how to maintain quality as well as hygiene in food industry and Instrumentation required in same aspect.
