Where will you go?
The world’s your oyster on a virtual trip.
Somewhere far afield? New Delhi? New York?
Or somewhere closer to home for a staycation? Why not visit Edinburgh or Belfast?
The next few pages will give you some ideas to get you started. Have a look at the postcards and learn about these fascinating cities - some of them have links to give you more information. There is a quiz to test your knowledge, too.
You could then research another city that interests you and create either your own postcard, a fact file, quiz or video about your chosen country - be as creative as you like….maybe you can even learn a traditional dance? What about finding out
about native wildlife? Maybe make a David Attenborough style video clip!
Make sure to do some virtual tours of museums or galleries. Don’t forget to find out how to say hello, goodbye, please and thank you in the local language. Can you find out about traditional dress or foods? Maybe you could draw some pictures,
make a peg doll or even try out some simple traditional recipes? Can you find out what the flag is? We can’t wait to see where you go and what adventures you get up to?
If you are a whizz on the computer, why not try photo shopping a picture of you and your family onto a picture of one of the tourist sites you visited! There are also some other ideas for really intrepid travellers but also some for those who prefer to
stay local. Don’t miss the scavenger hunt on the last page that you could do in your local area.
Have fun!
Bon voyage! İBuen viaje! Gute Reise!

:
My inner sanctum
In my mind I have a place
Somewhere peaceful and serene
Where I escape life's hectic pace,
Where no-one else has ever been.
I imagine a desert island
Surrounded by a sapphire sea,
With palm trees, and fine white sand
An oasis there, just for me.
I paddle in the crystal water,
As I explore the coral reef.
I marvel at exotic creatures,
As they swim and dart about beneath.
I walk along a secluded beach
Where gentle waves caress the sand.
Alone in my private haven
Escaping, to my minds island.
A beautiful place to spend some timeThis
little bolthole in my mind.
My contemplative holiday,
My inner sanctum, where I unwind.
