This free crochet hat pattern is perfect for little girls but can easily be adapted to adult sizes and colors.

The lovely vintage-inspired hat features a lacy, openwork design and optional pearl sequins.The hat is perfect

for spring festivities.

Materials:

Yarn: 1 ball of Schachenmayr Catania (100% cotton/1.75oz/135 yd) or Patons Grace (100%

cotton/1.75oz/136 yd) or ANY other cotton or blend yarn about the same yardage

20-30 pearl sequins (optional)

Crochet hook: 2/2.75MM (B/C U.S.) crochet hook or size to obtain gauge.

Gauge: First 6 rounds = 4 in diameter.

Sizes: 18 months to adult

Measurements: 19-20 head circumferences in child size and 21-22 adult. Size can be adjusted by using a

larger/smaller hook or thicker/thinner yarn.

Pattern:

NOTE: A hat is worked in rounds. See diagram below.

Ch 5. Join with sl st in the 1st ch to form a ring.

Rnd 1(RS): ch 4, [dc in ring, ch 1] 11 times; join with sl st in 3rd ch of beg ch 4 = 12 dc and 12 ch-1 sps.

Rnd 2: ch 3, dc in first ch-1 sp, *2 dc in next ch-1 sp; rep from * around; join with sl st in 3rd ch of beg ch 3

= 24 dc.

Rnd 3: ch 5, sk next 2 dc, dc in next st, *ch 2, sk 2 sts, dc in next st; rep from * around; join with sl st in 3rd



ch of beg ch 5 = 12 dc and 12 ch-2 sps.

Rnd 4: ch 3, 3 dc in first ch-2 sp, *4 dc in next ch-2 sp; rep from * around; join with sl st in 3rd ch of beg ch

3 = 48 dc.

Rnd 5: rep Rnd 3 = 24 dc and 24 ch-2 sps.

Rnd 6: ch 3, 2 dc in first ch-2 sp, *3 dc in next ch-2 sp; rep from * around; join with sl st in 3rd ch of beg ch

3 = 72 dc.

Rnd 7: ch 5, sk 3 next dc, (dc, ch 1, dc) in next st (V-st made), *ch 2, sk 2 sts, dc in next st, ch 2, sk 2 sts,

(dc, ch 1, dc) in next st; rep from * around; join with sl st in 3rd ch of beg ch 5 = 12 dc, 12 V-sts and 24 ch-2

Rnd 10: ch 3, (dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in first ch-1 sp, *ch 3, sc in ch-3 and ch-4 sps of two previous Rnds snatching
