Foreword
Kendriya VidyalayaSangathan extended the application of CCE scheme from Class III to V in all Kendriya Vidyalayas across the country and necessary guidelines and instructions have been issued in this regard from time to time. Though the scheme has been under implementation for the past years teachers come across many difficulties in the practical application of the scheme especially in the area of Formative Assessment, particularly related to FA2 and FA4 in which several varied areas of assessment have been included and it is stressed that criteria-based evaluation of the students’ performance is to be made. The instructions and guidelines for CCE are so vast and different from subject to subject that a few teachers do not fully comprehend them and generally there is none in the school who can guide and support such teachers in CCE whenever needed. During the one day workshop ,deliberations on various issues of Strengthening Primary Education were made and participants worked to collect and consolidate the CMP guidelines available from various sources and prepare this package as ready reckoner for all the Vidyalayas of the Chandigarh Region . This will help in having a uniformity across the region .We feel greatly indebted to Mrs T Rukumani , Assistant Commissioner KVS ( RO) Chandigarh for entrusting us with theresponsibility of organizing the One day CMP Workshop for consolidating the material. The workshop participants deserve words of appreciation . This booklet is combined effort of all the participants .

CCE –Scholastic & Co –scholastic
For classes I and II
There is no formal examination for Classes I and II. The teacher will evaluate the students through continuous and comprehensive evaluation [CCE]. The testing can be done simultaneously while teaching or separately.
Most of the time the students will not be aware that they are being tested.
There will be minimum 8 cycles of CCE.
In One cycle of CCE means that all the students of the class are tested in all the competencies.
They should obtain at least ‘C’ grade. If a child gets ‘D` grade in some competencies, the teacher should repeat the cycle.
It is therefore recommended that tentatively 10 cycles of CCE should be planned in advance, so as to ensure that at least 8 cycles are completed by all the students securing at least Grade C in all the competencies by March.
For standard I and II EVS syllabus ---as per NCERT Text Book “Skills in environmental Learning through English & Mathematics”. It can be downloaded form NCERT site http://www.ncert.nic.in/departments/nie/dee/publication/pdf/Skills_in_%20Environmental_Studies.pdf
