c. Lock housing runs the full depth and height of locker and is fully enclosed by a full height removable panel. Pass-thru rear release mechanisms are completely enclosed by the lock housing and accessible only when rear door is open. Anti-pry tabs are provided on all front doors.

d. Exposed lock mechanisms that can snag evidence and be obstructed by stored articles will not be permitted.

6. Welded Bases:a. Base is a minimum of 16 gauge steel 4 inches (101 mm) high with a 1.5 inch

(38 mm) return on the bottom.b. Provide with four appliance levelers for each locker.c. Provide removable access point for access to levelers.

7. Shelves:a. Single piece 18 gauge (121 mm) formed steel with double 80 degree bends on

the front and rear of each shelf.b. All shelves are welded in place. Riveting or bolting is not permitted.

8. Locks:a. Push button locking with stainless steel push button and alignment bezel. Locks

are a one-piece removable design. Locks secure the door with the single push of a button with no other action required by the user.

b. Locks are deadbolt type with multi-point engagement. Rotary latches or cam locks are not permitted.

c. Pass-thru locks shall be reset from the rear of -locker when the rear door is in the open position only.

d. Non Pass-thru locks shall be reset from the front of the locker using tube type locks keyed differently.

e. Locks shall be tested successfully to a minimum 40,000 cycles without failure.f. Locks are pre-lubricated with no maintenance required for the lifetime of the

unit (estimated at 20 years).

9. Doors:a. One piece doors are formed from 2 pieces of 18 gauge (1214 mm) and welded

together. Inner and outer door skins shall have a combined steel thickness of no less than 0.096 inches (2..4 mm) thick.

b. Each door shall have a nickel plated, flush mounted door handle installed with fasteners visible only in the unlocked position.

c. Provide neoprene silencers on each door.d. Provide anti-pry tabs that engage with the Center Vertical Lock Housing when

the door is locked.e. Doors shall have no moving parts except the door and the hinge.f. Provide stainless steel spring loaded hinges welded to prevent pin removal.

Spring loaded hinges shall be capable of holding the door closed and flush with the door frame.

10. Rear Doors (Pass-Thru Lockers):a. One piece doors are formed from 2 pieces of 18 gauge (1214 mm) and welded

together. Inner and outer door skins shall have a combined steel thickness of no less than 0.096 inches (2..4 mm) thick.

b. Each locker module shall have one rear door each and allow evidence to be removed from all compartments at once.

c. Each rear door shall have multi-point engagement with a built-in L handle lock. Access to all lock mechanisms shall be hidden behind cover plates that are secured with tamper proof fasteners.

2.5 ACCESSORlES

A. Trim General: Provide adjustable fillers, angle trim, finishing end panels, and false fronts as indicated or as required for a complete installation.

B. Locker Sloped Tops:1. Continuous slope top shall be 20 gauge (0.912 mm) sheet steel, baked enamel

finished to match the color of the lockers. Hoods are 60 inches (1524 mm) maximum length. For longer lengths, slip joints without visible fasteners at splice locations shall be provided. Sloped top supports spaced at a maximum of 36 inches and end closures shall be provided.

2. Individual sloped tops shall be 24 gauge sheet steel, baked enamel finished to match the color of the lockers. Tops are 20 inches (508 mm) and 48 inches (1219 mm) maximum widths. Tops fastened to gable ends with rivets.

C. Metal Locker Bases:1. Leg Base: All welded construction sized to match locker in height indicated on the

Drawings. Leg base shall be baked enamel coated to match the color of the lockers.2. Recessed Base: Recessed closed base shall be sheet steel, baked enamel coated to

3.1 EXAMINATION

A. Do not begin installation until substrates have been properly prepared.
