Since May 2007 Corrsys-Datron, DEWETRON, GeneSys, Kistler and TÜV SÜD Automotive are closely cooperating in an association called DTA (Driveability Testing Alliance). For the first time the complete spectrum to acquire and rate vehicle dynamics parameters of vehicles has been covered as a sense of newness to the market. Within a joint project a suitable vehicle had been purchased and instrumented with sensors and DAQ systems from all companies represented in the DTA, supported by service per-sonal from all companies at the same time. All instruments have been linked to enable synchronous data acquisition.

The CAN-bus information from the vehicle are read out and synchronously recorded in addition and the data acquisition system has been configured based on the calibrated sensors, as well as the polarity of the signals has been introduced according to the conventions in DIN 70000. More than 230 channels in total deliver a wide ranged input on all relevant parameters according to vehicle driving dynamics.

All relevant tests to rate a vehicle for an approval have been performed on the VDA platform of the BOSCH proving ground in Boxberg, Germany:

• ISO-lane change ISO 3888-1

• VDA-evasion test according to ISO 3888-2

• Stationary circle test according to DIN ISO 4138

• Load change from stationary circle test according to ISO 9816

• Braking from stationary circle test according to ISO 7975

• Steering angle step and sinus test according to ISO 7401 (with steering robot)

Measurements on the Nürburgring North loop have been performed to also acquire relevant data to evaluate durability tests. The tests in Boxberg as well as on the Nürburgring North loop have been com-pleted in week 16 this year.

The complete pool of data is now available for the partner companies of the DTA to be evaluated, which is surely a unique event with the density of given information. Due to the short time only a few exemplary measurements have been analyzed and interpreted so far, they will be handed out on a flyer during the show.

The project has proven that all components and systems of the DTA partner companies are compatible operating and the complete process chain sensor – signal acquisition and analysis – development of methods are reliably controllable.

Based on the feedback from the Testing Expo will be decided on the future oft he DTA and a possible legal form of the company. Possible solutions are besides others:

• DTA as vendor for complete measurement systems solutions

• DTA als development company for application packages (i.e. braketest, driving stability,…)

• Performing seminars with active vehicle measurements

• Organisation of roadshows, company exhibitions and seminars
