3.5 Local disk group setting information for Oracle logging.

In the exist environment, volume manager was created a disk groups called “oralogdg” for the oracle log data storage on P5GL0601 and P5GL0602 locally. Both Oracle cluster nodes also have a single SAN disk for creating the “oralogdg” for the local Oracle database logging store.

Follow is the volume layout by “vxprint” command.

3.6 Oracle cluster disk group and data volume size setting information

In the current environment, VM has created a disk group called “oradg”. And which is consisting of two disks. Two volumes have created for oracle data (150GB) and oracle archive log (50GB) store.

Follow is the volume layout by “vxprint” command.

4.3 Customized configuration for VCS

In OMS cluster environment, in order to address Linux Bond’s arping known issue, VCS has configured a cluster pro-trigger (resstatechange) script for the IP resource agent. This script will issue a “arping” to broadcasting the updated Mac Address of who holding the virtual IP address. However, it (/opt/VRTSvcs/bin/triggers/resstatechange) will automatically run after cluster IP resource agent status change from OFFLINE to ONLINE everytimes.

Here is the script content:

4.4 Major process of VCS

There have 2 major processes for the VCS. Which are the “had” & “hashadow”. These 2 processes have a redundancy mechanism. If one of other process failed, the other remain one will help to auto regenerate the dead process.

For example: If “had” process failed, hashadow will automatically help to regenerate the “had” process back.

NOTICE: If both processes are failed, VCS will be identify the node was crashed and failover will be triggered.
