In this issue: VChain Delivers first Simulation Class for Austin ISD

We are excited to deliver our first simulation class to Austin ISD to a group of students from Anderson High School. This was the first test of our new cloud based ProActive simulation software and we are proud to say the software and the simulation experience proved to be a huge hit with students and teachers alike.

After learning about the supply chain in the classroom students in the Anderson High School Entrepreneurial program put their learning to the test in a team competi-tion hosted at the newly opened Austin Community Col-lege (ACC) ACCelerator computer lab. This state of the art facility hosts more than 700 student workstations and is over 2 football fields long.

The ExperienceAs you can tell by the pictures below the students were highly motivated and were actively engaged with the simulation and excited to compete against their fellow classmates.

We invited numerous prospects to the competition including the University of Texas and other colleges and high schools in the area. We have learned that seeing is believing and everyone that attended the event is interested in a follow-up discussion. It was a great event for the students and it is helping VChain attract new customers.

The Results

At VChain we are always focused on metrics across our business and as part of our standard post simulation evaluation we took a survey to see how the students found our simulation experience. The results were outstanding for our first competition and we will continue to improve and adapt the simulation experience to meet student needs.

VChain is growing!VChain Adds New Board MemberWe couldn’t be more pleased to announce the following new board member joining the VChain team. Richard bringstremendous supply chain experience and will be instrumental in helping us grow and succeed.

Here is what he had to say about VChain.

Richard Sherman - Supply Chain author, researcher, consultant

Supply Chain Talent Management is among the most challenging issues facing companies today. While supply chain is arguably the largest and most well-paying career sector in the world, most stu-dents and people are unaware of the functions and careers available. That all changes with VChain Solutions. High school, college and university stu-dents become engaged and learn about managing supply chain functions using familiar gaming simu-lation technology and supply chain management dashboards. Companies can screen and develop employees using the solutions. Raising awareness and competence in supply chain management early in the education process increases the pool and skills of supply chain talent going forward. It’s excit-ing to join VChain’s board of directors and partici-pate in a helping nurture new generation of supply chain leaders.
