Invocation

May the light in me be the light before me.May I learn to see it in all.

May the sound I utter reveal the light in me.May I listen to it while others speak.

May the silence in and around me present itself, the silence which we break every moment.

May it fill the darkness of noise we do,and convert it into the light of our background.

Let virtue be the strength of my intelligence.Let realisation be my attainment.

Let my purpose shape into the purpose of our earth.Let my plan be an epitome of the divine plan.

May we speak the silence without breaking it.May we live in the awareness of the background.

May we transact light in terms of joy.May we be worthy to find place in the eternal kingdom OM.

Message of the month of Sagittarius

Capricorn marks the northern coursing of the sun. Northern coursing of the sun is seen as the ascent of the sun. Ascent of the sun is related to ascent of the soul. When soul ascends, fulfilment happens. Therefore, the 10th house of the zodiac is considered as the house of fulfilment. It also marks the meridian, when Aries is seen as the ascendant. The soul descends into matter and gets into the nether regions as the sun courses southwards. Scorpio is seen as the spiritual nether-lands. The spirit reaches the ground. It is the touchdown of the serpent according to the scriptures. The spirit descends to be with the matter, to experience and to fulfil. The path of descent is followed by the path of ascent and this ascent is marked by Capricorn. The spirit ascends having fulfilled its experience. Therefore, Capricorn marks fulfilment. Having fulfilled the purpose, the soul returns to its own source, the source being Aries. Sun is exalted in Aries. Capricorn is picked up by the ancients as the sign of initiation to spi-rit. Therefore, the winter solstice is considered as the day of initiation. Preparation for initiation happens two days before, and the initiation happens on the day of solstice. Spiritual aspirants need to mark the winter solstice and prepare for the related initiation as early as possible. The preparation can be beginning a month before. It can also be three month before. Initiation is inevitable for a sincere aspirant on the winter solstice day. The Solar God himself receives initiation, according to the Puranas. Therefore, the solar beings (the souls) also find the related initiation. Masters of Wisdom always choose to initiate in the month of Capricorn. They enact the ritual of the birth of the Saviour in the midnight hours of the solstice which happens either on 22nd or on 23rd December. Jesus Christ was truly born during the midnight hours of solstice and is therefore considered to be a Saviour. In the initial centuries, his birth was celebrated on 22nd December, but slowly, through times, it has got

Message of the Teacher

Continuity

People relate the end to death. Death happens once, but the ending hap-pens many times. From morning till evening, many acts are commenced, conducted and ended, only to commence yet another act. The one who commences, conducts and concludes, again commences. This we see in our life on a daily basis. Relate our commencement to birth, our conduct to the life activity, and our conclusion as our activity of death and we recommence. Death is death to an activity, for a fresh commencement. Death is not to ourselves. Each time we end an act, we take an interval to recommence yet another act. Similarly death is ending of an activity for recommencement of fresh activity after an interval. Even creation, as it comes to an end, recommences. There is no such thing as end, in its absolute sense. When it is so, why so much horror is attached to death? The horror of death is man’s creation. It is not as horrible as it is depicted. The one who sees daily commencement, conduct, and conclusion can also see the birth, the growth and the death. The Seer continues activity, commences, closes, concludes and resumes after a pause. This is so with an indivi-dual, with a planet, with a solar system, and with a creation. That’s the law.

shifted to 25th December. The esoteric Christmas is truly on the solstice day during the midnight hours. The spiritual aspirants would do well to orient and to meditate during those hours of night so that the Solar God recalls the souls that slumber in the nether regions (muladhara). Arousing of Kundalini is possible due to the impact of the solar energy to the aspi-ring students.Master C.V.V., the Aquarian Master, also chose to initiate spiritual aspi-rants into Aquarian energies during the month of Capricorn though not on the solstice day. He has set up 29th December as the day to call forth aspirants into the energies of synthesis. This day is named by him as the December Call. The Master of the Aquarian energies calls on the spiri-tual aspirants on the 29th December every year, during the local twilight hours of dawn and dusk. Aspirants may prepare themselves with their body and mind pure, invoke the sound C.V.V. and sit in contemplation. It would be helpful for students to uplift themselves into realms of super-mundanity. An appropriate orientation takes place during those defined hours. The Master also set up another initiation day in the 10th month of the zodiac of the reversed wheel. On the reversed wheel, Gemini happens to be the 10th month. He therefore set up 29th May as yet another day to call the aspirants to enter into Aquarian energies. Master C.V.V. works by the regular wheel as also by the reversed wheel for He fulfils here and hereafter. May the Master bless all those who relate to the December Call in this month of Capricorn.

Gita-Upanishad

Lord Krishna

Self-Opposition to Self

The self can be a helpful relative for the one whose behaviour is coope-rative with the self, or it can be otherwise. 6/6

The Lord here speaks of a behaviour that cooperates with the Self and a behaviour that cooperates not with the Self. Each man is driven by his behaviour. The behaviour can be an ignorant behaviour, or a knowled-geable behaviour. When one is driven by ignorant behaviour, he lands himself in trouble. In him there would be a dichotomy. He knows what he should do but he cannot do what he thinks is good for him. Most of the humans are like this. Most of the humans know what they need to do but they cannot. Every average human knows regulations of food, but they are not followed. Likewise humans know the regulations of speech but they are not followed. The dichotomy of the human being is due to a gap between what he knows and what he does. Knowledge is not in dearth, only action is in dearth. Why is it so with the humans? It’s be-cause one’s own pattern of behaviour is stronger than one’s own Self. The Self is divided between itself and its behaviour. Many times the human resolves not to eat certain things, not to speak certain things, and not to do certain things. He has to resolve many times because he fails many times. This is where one is helpless. It is a situation where there is self-opposition to Self! Self opposition to himself means he is opposed to himself and he gets disgusted with him-self, for he knows what is right but he cannot do what is right. The books cannot help such ones. The preacher cannot help such ones. Only a true

Teacher can help. A true Teacher lends his presence and reinforces the Self so that the Self can meet the behavioural self and regulate it. This reinforcement comes from the Teacher who represents the Higher Self by which the self-opposing behaviour slowly gets regulated to be coopera-tive. Once behaviour is cooperative with the Self, one can be progressive with little difficulty. It’s like one’s own horse cooperates with oneself so that he can ride on and move swiftly. This is the crux of the human pro-gression and this crux is dissolved by the presence of the Hierarchy. Yet, the Self can speak to the opposing self, negotiate with it, slowly make friendship with it. Cajole it and bring it around with the help of patience and perseverance. Slowly, Self can be friendly to self. Only through patience and perseverance, friendliness can be gained; by im-positions and regular disciplines, friendship cannot be gained, instead, a rebellious self emerges. This is where religions failed. Religions believed in impositions and disciplines, Yoga believes in loving understanding and friendliness of oneself. Be friendly to yourself; if you cannot be friendly to yourself, you cannot be friendly to others. If you cannot love yourself, you cannot love others. Through patience, perseverance, loving under-standing and friendliness, self can be befriended by the Self. Once this befriending happens and forms up Self can uplift the self. Do not look for others to uplift. If you look for others to uplift you, you cannot lift up yourself by yourself. Initially you may take the support of other self, but self-help is the best help, says Krishna. Krishna stands by himself. He stands all by himself. He stands all alone - all in One. He wanted his dis-ciple also to stand up like him. He was willing to help his friend Arjuna, provided Arjuna is willing to help himself. The Teacher helps until one helps himself. As one helps himself, the Teacher stands by and observes. He stands by to support if needed, but does not support when not nee-ded. This is the path of Yoga that Lord Krishna proposes to the students of Yoga through this strophe.

Planetary Work

Drinkable water is pure water, it is like the blood. Undrinkable water is impure water, it is like impure blood. The impure blood in the body is purified in the heart with the help of fresh life supplied by respiration, and the pure blood once again flows through the arteries. Nature purifies the impurities emerging from natural activity. Nature has an auto-puri-fication system. Nature is conducted by fire, the carbon emerging from the conduct of fire is cleansed and the freshness is upheld. Man also has to follow this principle of nature. He needs to ensure that the house he stays in, that tends to be impure by his activity, shall have to be puri-fied by him. This is because he built a house in nature. All that impurity emerging from man’s activity shall have to be purified by man only. When a child plays with toys, and lets them in disorders, the mother instructs the child to restore the toys to order. Thus the mother teaches the child. Mother Nature teaches the human through its demonstration. But when man does not accept the teaching and conducts himself, he creates a hell out of the earth. Men are responsible for the cleanliness of their house, their village, their town, and their cities. Let not the purifica-tion be limited to one’s own house, let it be ensured for the planet which houses all the beings. Such a work is planetary work.

Message of Master Morya

Maruvu Maharshi

The Accepted Ones

Whatever is offered in pure devotion is acceptable to the divine. Purity in devotion enables an acceptable offering. When devotion becomes a habit, such a devotion extents itself into speech, action, and even into thought. Devotion is not certain emotional actions around one’s own concept and symbol of God. One has to be devoted in thought, speech and action and in relation to every thought, every speech and every ac-tion.Such a triple devotion enables an alignment within. When there is an inner alignment, it enables to align with the outer Plan and conducts acts according to a Grand Plan. Devotion should not be confused with emotion. Emotions represent muddy waters. Devotion represents purified waters in which the mud is eliminated. When one is not devotional, one binds himself by his deeds. When one is devotional, he unbinds himself to align with the Grand Plan. The classical emotions are well narrated in scriptures. They are pride, prejudice, jealousy, hatred, anger, irritation, attachment, fear and posses-siveness. These emotions cannot be overcome unless one devotes him-self on a regular basis to an act of goodwill. We help beings who tend to be devotional, and we help the devotional ones to join the Plan. The truly devoted are called disciples.

Message of Master Koot Hoomi

Devâpi Maharshi

The Slipping Key

Do not be crazy to look for divinity in distant places. Travelling far, seeing the popularly known sacred places satisfies only your ego. You gain nothing by such outward travels. They only help you to aggrandize yourself. There are many who visit sacred places, come back with pho-tographs and videos only to show up to others. It is an ego-gratifying activity. Self-gratification and self-publicity helps you not to cause the needed transformations. Transformation is an inner process. The sacred things that you tend to find in distant places would normally be very proximate to you; it may be in your own village or town. A sacred person of your place is as big as a sacred mount in a distant continent. The mount may not be able to im-part knowledge to you since you do not know its language but a sacred person can communicate and show you the way. When a live source for transformation is available, why should one travel to distances to relate to something hidden which is not communicable. Man does this kind of activity due to the complex nature he holds in himself. Somehow man’s mind accepts not that which is simple and obvious. Most of the occult students lose their simplicity in their pursuit of occult knowledge and create insurmountable blocks to themselves. This is a funny state which is not so funny for the ones who suffer from this tricked state. Ensure at all times that you remain simple. As much simple you are, so much you stay on the path. Simplicity is a frequently lost key. It has to be fetched on a daily basis.

Message of Master EK

The Insider

The one in the body is not visible. His speeches are audible, his actions are visible. We do not know the one inside. We only name his form and we build relations of the form. When the one inside disappears, the form is not respected. The relatives dispatch it either for cremation or for cemetery. When the one is inside, all are around. When the one is not, all stand away. No one knows the one inside, how he looks like, and what his name is. You too do not know your own Self until you go inside and see that all occult practices start from you. Know thyself, then you can know the indweller of other forms.

Message of

Sri Ramakrishna

The Lord takes the Human Body

Why should God incarnate Himself in the human form?

The Lord takes the human body for the sake of those pure souls who love the Lord.Nothing is problematical to the Incarnation. He solves the most difficult and intricate problems of life as the simplest of things in the world, and his expositions are such as even a child can follow. He is the sun of Divine knowledge whose light dispels to accumulated ignorance of ages.

Lay Man’s Prayer

You send Teachers. We do not learn.

Teaching perhaps helps only a handful. You come down as Avatar.

Even then only a hundred help themselves. In this age of electronic chips,

is it not wise to replace our ‘chip of expectations’ with the ‘chip of offering’? Pardon me for this advice.

This is my Prayer.

Discipleship

Proximate Divinity

Displeasing the life in the proximity and trying to please a distant deity is not only impractical but also unfruitful. Many in discipleship pick up their ideal in a Master of Wisdom of immediate and remote past, and try to live by the teachings of the Master. But the Master whom they idealize and worship is also present in the surrounding life in the form of parents, brothers, friends, colleagues, weak and meek and in the form of animals and birds. Neglecting their needs, neglecting to cooperate with and support them whenever needed is contrary to the teaching of any true Master. No Master of Wisdom is ever pleased with an aspirant’s misbeha-viour, with any subsisting and surrounding life. Insulting the life surroun-ding, one cannot approach either the Master or the Divinity. Aspirants think of supermundane, for they have heard much of its beauty and serenity, but supermundane is not for those who do not fulfil their work in the mundane. One cannot aspire for higher education unless the basic education is well fulfilled. Respecting one’s own parents, teachers, and elders regardless their knowledge and respecting the bird, the animal that one frequently en-counters is part of discipleship. Frequently the Master speaks through the proximity and the students should be respectful enough to all that sur-rounds oneself. To respect is essential, whether one agrees or disagrees. By respect, one builds harmony around. By disrespect, one builds dis-cord. Discord disables a Master to approach the student.May not the student overlook this fundamental.

Occult Meditations

Meditation 73

the dog is boUnd to the pole. the bear goes roUnd the

pole. the pole is the pole star. the dog is siriUs star.the bear is of seven stars

Commentary:

The explanations given in the previous two meditations facilitate an easy understanding of this meditation. The Dog Star moves around the South Pole. Symbolically, it is said that the dog is bound to the pole, which is very common in the world. The watchdog in the house is also bound to guard against the entry of stran-gers.The bear goes round the pole at the top. This relates to the Great Bear that moves around the pole. One rotation of the Great Bear around the Pole takes 25,920 years. The movement of the Great Bear in each of the Sun signs takes 2,160 years. The ages, such as the Arian, Piscean and Aquarian, are counted by this movement of the Great Bear. While the Dog is at the South Pole, the Bear is at the North Pole. The Dog initiates the journey through Sushumna. The Bear inspires from above. Thus, there is push from the Dog and pull from the Bear. The dis-ciple in the path of Yoga is doubly assisted.

Kapila

Self 1

"ONE PLUS ONE IS ONE"He is the inseparable one. The separations, divisions and parts exist in him but not to him. The limbs, the lungs, the heart, the nerves, the blood stream, the bones exist in man. But to the man he exists himself as a unit, as a whole but not as parts. He is self-luminous and hence cannot be enlightened. He enlightens. He is subtle and invisible. He is the under current of all happenings. The fibre in the cloth is subtle. The cotton in the fibre is subtler. The atoms in the cotton are still subtler. The force in the atom is subtler than the atom. The source for emanation of force is the subtlest. When you look at the cloth, the subtler aspects of the cloth are lost sight of. Likewise, while observing the world, the basis of the world is lost sight of. Hence, He is the subtlest of the subtle. He has no other, for He is the basis of all and all that is in between. He is unitary and is beyond duality. He is unconcerned (as the basis) of that which is conceptualised as good, bad and indifferent. He is beyond the actions and the concepts relating thereto and yet is their basis. The world is filled by Him. Without Him there is no world. The world is a fabric woven out of Him by the force and the matter through time. The world has no identity of itself. The golden ring has no identity of itself without the gold.He is the basis of Genesis. Through His Will He presides over all that is generated. The Will is sublimated to him. The air, the fire etc. are His secondary forces. His Will presides over them. They cannot function be-yond His Will. He is the light in fire, the warmth in Sun, the movement in the wind.To cognise Him and recognise Him in all without exception leads one to liberation. This knowledge leads to bliss.

The Symbol and its Significance

The seed sound G stands for movement. A stands for First Logos, U stands for Second Logos. The sound Gau or Go is therefore considered to be the composite energy movement of Will, Love and Knowledge. Worship of Cow is considered beneficial for this reason.

indra agni Ta aBhira gaTaM

“Oh Lords Indra and Agni, your horses are most desired by most of the people. They are meant for those who offered themselves to the sur-rounding life. Please approach us riding on all the horses that you have”

Explanation:

In the Vedas, the horse is a great symbol. It is a symbol of life energy. It is also the symbol of the energies that function through all the five senses. It also represents the energy of extra-sensory perception. The horses also are represented by the sense of Presence and the spiritual perception. These are all needed for all those who work for goodwill so that they function much more effectively. As much of these energies enter into oneself, so much one excels at all levels. The upward said energies are energies of awareness and energies of life which move swiftly like heal-thy horses. Indra the Celestial King and Agni the Cosmic Fire are the pre-siding deities in relation to these energies. They are worshipped to gain the sense of Presence, the extra-sensory perceptions, the agile senses, and healthy life. Worship of fire bestows such energies in plenty. Seeking plentiful blessings with respect of these energies is the special appeal of the worshipper in this hymn.

Questions and Answers

Question: Master, did Christ ever speak of reincarnation in his teachings?

Answer: Christ did speak of reincarnation. The belief in reincarnation was very much there in the Jewish system and continues to be regardless the ignorance / knowledge of the religious authorities. When Christ gave sight to a blind man, one of his followers enquired: “Master, what did this man do in the past to be blind now?” The very fact that there is a past life was proved by this customary question of his fol-lower. Christ as well as his followers knew the science of reincarnation. Christ himself symbolically speaks of the judgement of those who are bu-ried in matter. Every being that lives in flesh and blood is a being that is buried in matter. They are the living death, for they do not recall the sprit in them and live by the spiritual teaching. Such ones are the buried ones. They are buried in their ignorance and out of such ignorance, they do acts of ignorance, and they are judged by their own acts and punished accordingly until the indwellers come out of their sleep within the mat-ter. Christ many times speaks that he has come to awaken the sleeping souls, and then show them the way into the kingdom of God. There are many legends and stories in the Jewish system that speak of reincarna-tion. They can be understood when the symbolic presentation of the Old Testament is well perceived. Among the students of the Christ, they were many who forgot the Master’s teachings on astrology, on cosmogenesis and on symbology.

Whatever they remembered, they gave it to the posterity and through successive veneration the core of wisdom is lost. It is misfortune of hu-manity that there was no contemporary writer to record the teachings of Christ. In the case of Rama and Krishna, the contemporary seers recor-ded the events. In the case of Christ an attempt was made to reconstruct his life and his teachings three hundred years after his death. Therefore much of his teachings are lost to humanity, but they are well preserved in the cave temples on earth.

An Introduction into the Work of Cosmic Fire, 14

Colour and Sound

So, unless the functional part of the wisdom is worked out, the specu-lative part of the wisdom is not experienced. We speak so much about the cosmic and the solar centres. It is only a speech for the speech' sake. They should inspire us to function in the daily life, but if the inspiration is not carried into daily life, all that gets evaporated the moment we are out of the seminar. Any amount of our study of colour and sound does not really give us the understanding of it, because the colour we see is the grossest manifestation of the colour. The vibration of the colour moves in such speed and such velocity that which we see as colour is the opposi-tion of matter to the manifestation of colour. A student of colour who can see colours through his vision really struggles hard to get it on to the can-vas, because it can never be brought on to the canvas totally. You take the morning sunrise touching a tender leaf, or you take the sunrise with the glow of the golden view and the orange. When you bring it upon to the matter, at best you get that kind of orange. But the orange we see the sky carries much more brilliance than this. The vibration of that orange is far higher. Its velocity is quite high, and the happening of all colours is on account of the difference in their vibration and velocity. So, it is easy to realise them, when we shift into that awareness in our own being, and then in a situation where we remain in the dense physical and try to see them. That is why many times the Master says: "We have not yet develo-ped the seeing eye." So, the five sounds are uttered forth in the Akasha which have their ba-

sis in the third part of OM. And consequently, there is the formation of matter, and there is gradual manifestation up to the gross matter. The sounds relating to matter which are considered to be five in number keep functioning through our base centre and keep regulating the matter, and hence, the material manifestation, animation and vitalisation keep hap-pening through the base centre. So, the descent of fire brings the matter into denser states. And we have all the gradations of matter in us and outside.

The Story of Dhruva

I told you that the Manu Swayambhuva had two sons, Priyavratha and Uttanapada. Uttanapada gave birth to Uttama by his first wife, Suruchi. The son was dear and near to the father. Another wife of Uttanapada is named Suniti. In fact she was the queen, but she was not lucky enough to receive much of the warm affection of the husband. She gave birth to a son, Dhruva by name. One day, Uttama was sitting on the thighs of his father, and Dhruva also wanted to sit there. Suruchi could not relish it. She said to Dhruva: "If at all you have a desire to sit on the lap of your father along with my son, you have to be born to me as my son. There is no place here for the child of any other lady. You are foolish to aspire for the place of Uttama. No doubt, you are also the son of this King, but at the same time, you are not lucky enough to be born as my son. This throne of the king is venerated by all kings and all the rulers of the earth submit themselves under its banner. My son has the justification to sit upon this throne. Why do you struggle uselessly? This desire of yours is too high for you to aspire. You are born to Sunithi and this makes it impossible for you to aspire."Parasara said: “Dhruva heard these words, turned his face away from the father and went to the palace of his mother. She took him into her lap, understood the situation and said: "My boy, no one insults his father on this earth. What Suruchi has said is true, since you are born to me, the unfortunate queen. Those who have the result of their past good deeds in store will not be insulted by their step mothers. What you have expe-

The Septenate of Man 2

When you refer to the wave when it is in the ocean, it is also called ‘man in God’. So, one is in the other, God is in man and man is in God. These are the seventh and the sixth chambers. Thereafter, it is experience, expe-rience of bliss, experience of truth, ecstatic state. That is the fifth cham-ber. Then the fourth chamber is the knowledge which has no limits arising out of creative thinking. The knowledge and bliss are the two aspects of man. Then, you have the vehicle to experience knowledge, to experience bliss, to experience God. This vehicle consists of the mind, the senses and the body. Man is seen as a triple. There is the God aspect, the divine. Then there is the man aspect, with knowledge and bliss. And then there is the vehicle aspect, which is the memorising mind, the senses and the body. This is the septenate of man: the seven chambers of man. Most of the sensuous and emotional average human beings are in the vehicular part of man only. They are not yet even in the human aspect of man. Then there is the superhuman and divine. We should know that we are much more than what we see as our avenue. To give the message of the-se three aspects of man, we have a symbol of the chariot as vehicle, and there is the man in God in the vehicle and the God in man in the vehi-cle. That is how you see a horse chariot driven by Krishna, and Arjuna is seated in it. If you ask an average Indian, he would only speak about Arjuna, Krishna, the chariot and the war. The symbol existed even before Krishna, Arjuna and the chariot. There is the divinity in you which conducts all the intelligences relating to your body. The life comes from it, you come from it, time comes from

rienced now is the result of what you have done in the past. Do not be agitated. Nobody can confer upon you what was not done by you. There is no place for sorrow because of her words. The throne, the might, the white umbrella of an emperor, good horses and elephants are inherited by those who acquire enough good from their past deeds. Suruchi did all this in her previous life and she is now the real wife of the king. Although I am called the queen I have nothing in store for me from my past birth. The son of Suruchi is the product of her past good deeds. You, my son, are the product of my good deeds, which were only a few. One gets the pleasure of what one has done in the past, and that much only. If you are really sorry about this incident, make an attempt to gather the one good deed which gives all the good results. Be good in behaviour and follow the law. Be a friend of the living beings and strive hard for their welfare. Your good deeds will form a downward flow upon which you will float and bring near you what you call wealth, like a ship."Dhruva said: "Mother! My heart is no longer disturbed because of the bad words of Suruchi. I do not keep them in mind. I will try to follow your advice, which is really great. I will acquire a place which is wor-shipped by all the beings of all the worlds. Suruchi is the beloved wife of the king. Uttama, her son, may enjoy the throne and I am happy about it, since he is my brother and since the kingdom will be offered to him by my father. I do not desire for something which is given to others. I aspire for something which is not yet given, not even to my father."

34 Vaisakh News Letter 26/90 Vaisakh News Letter 26/9 0 35

it, force comes from it, matter comes from it – all that we know comes from one source. That source is in you. It is the divinity in you. You are there, and then the vehicle is there. This is the triple aspect of man and it details in the seven aspects. That is why man is said to be the one who has seven planes of existence. This is a very broad division. You can make many divisions out of each division. Each division can again be divided into seven divisions. What is important for us is that we take to the fourth and fifth chamber of know-ledge and the bliss of existence, and do not limit ourselves to the bodily indulgences and the related problems. These things bring some tempora-ry happiness and then have consequences. We are all much, much bigger than what we think of us. So, we should get into the unknown part relating to us and reach those realms where we are open to much knowledge which is light. Another name for light is knowledge, because a knowledgeable one can throw light on things. He can make things visible, which are not seen by others. This is how the steps have to be made. For that, we need a discipline. If you set your aspirations clearly, the sundry activities will follow. Otherwise, it is only going to beach, eating ice-creams, and speaking without purpose. Speaking is also an excellent faculty. There is a way to speak conducting alchemy. There is also a way to speak doing noise. Speech can be used for making noise. Speech can be used to express voice. Speech can be used to transmit sublime thoughts. Speech can be used to transmit light. Speech can be used to transform things. There is a great magic that one can work with, if one knows how to work with speech. We first need to understand all the potentials that we have. One needs to aspire high, gain height and keep working for it in that engagement, all your energies are upward oriented. Then we don’t have depression, we don’t weep, we don’t feel morose because there is an en-gagement to something noble. It continues to engage you and fulfil you, and the sense of satisfaction is very high when you accomplish it. Every student should be given noble and high aspiration. It should be taught that they are constituted of seven chambers. They should try to go to the upper floors, where there is more light, better wind and no mosquitoes. Mosquitoes are one picking the other. It’s not a very noble state of living

that one keeps on complaining about the others, commenting the others, speaking evil of others. What’s the great work done in such activity? It’s like living in a chamber full of mosquitoes. We shall aim high and set the goal high, so that our energies are upward oriented, and we are unmindful of petty things. Otherwise, petty things become important. This is what I see as the basis for all occult study. I gave you the broad theme, and then we get into the details. So, we are like the wave of the one ocean. Essentially we are divine be-cause essentially, what is in the wave is what is in the ocean. Then, the man in the sixth chamber is called ‘man in God’. He cannot be out of God. In the ocean, the wave cannot be out of the ocean. It has no existence by itself. Can you conceive a wave without ocean? You cannot conceive a man without his source. The ocean, when it is in the wave, it is called ‘God in man’ – that is the seventh chamber.

Paracelsus Health & Healing

The Knowledge of Departing 1

Technological and scientific development in the 20th Century substan-tially contributed to diagnose and treat variety of sickness. Programs of health and hygiene together with the aforesaid developments resulted in the increase in longevity and prevention of premature deaths. While it is so, yet another problem cropped up. Today in developed countries peo-ple are awaiting departure in the form of death. Persons who have be-come sufficiently old, ineffective, continue to suffer in hospitals in large numbers. Most of them are unwilling to live but at the same time do not know how to die. How to die is also important knowledge just as how to live. To die is not to die but to depart. This was known to the ancients. To be born is to fulfil certain purposes which would result in self-fulfilment. To live is to pursue the purposes that life offers for self-fulfilment. To die is to depart either when the purposes are fulfilled or when the body is no more useful in fulfilling the life’s purposes. A modern man lands in an airport, gets into a vehicle and moves in a city to fulfil the purposes of his arrival in the city. When the purpose is accomplished he ones again departs from the airport. Incarnated souls so incarnate to fulfil the purposes of their lives. Unfulfilled purposes result in inadequate knowledge. To fulfil the unful-filled part he continues to incarnate. Until he becomes an embodiment of knowledge he continues to incarnate. The theory of incarnation was global in ancient times and it is now being slowly finding its expression

all over the globe. Wisdom is not complete until the doctrine of reincar-nation is studied and comprehended. Denial of this doctrine results in certain difficulties as is the case now.In the east it is common knowledge and is built into the psyche of hu-mans that they come again and again until they are self-fulfilled, physi-cally and metaphysically. Self-realisation is the means of such fulfilment and the science of yoga lays down the path. It is also well known that human body is the vehicle for the man who is the indweller. He uses the vehicle appropriately to fulfil the desires relating to physical, emotional, mental, the supra-mental planes. Just like in a long journey one changes the vehicle when it is no more useful for the travel; the aged bodies are abandoned and the indweller seeks new and fresh bodies. One cannot get stuck with an inoperative vehicle on a long journey. The indweller continues on his journey and changes vehicles (body) if necessary and moves forward. When this knowledge is not available, death is seemed as termination of journey, which is not acceptable to the indweller. For this reason people try to repair and repair and repair the inoperative ve-hicle without result and are stuck with it. They do not know that Nature provides yet another vehicle and they should be prepared to leave the inoperative vehicle. This knowledge has to be given so that the crisis of maintaining old in-operative bodies through varieties of support systems can be overcome. In most of these cases the persons are unaware (unconscious) while the life in the body is maintained with support system. When support system is withdrawn the life withdraws. Neither patients nor their family nor the doctors are today able to take decision. This cannot continue.

Children's Section

On Service

service is the ordained law in creation.it is inescapable.

Dear Children

Do not associate with the following if you wish to progress well in life:

1) Lazy ones. A lazy one is a non-doer and tends to be a failure in life. He tends to forget, he tends to be overlooking his fundamental duties. He remains generally unclean.

2) A glutton. A glutton is also generally a non-doer. People who eat more tend to do less because of heaviness in the body. They are also prone to ill health and infections. It is advisable not to associate with such ones.

3) A frequent liar. You can observe among your friends if there is anyone who frequently speaks lies. Such ones can land you into trouble by their mistreatments and misrepresentations. They misguide you and mislead you.

4) A disrespectful one. Amidst your friends, if there are any who are disrespectful to elders, it is better to avoid them at once for they can create wrong attitudes in you. Disrespect to elders gradually develops into disrespect to society and to the world as a whole. It builds hatred and tends one to be negative towards society.

There is popular saying, “Tell me who your friends are, I can tell you who you are”. The associations you have very much speak of you also. It is therefore necessary that you choose your friends. Do not go by likes and dislikes to choose friends. Go by virtues. Where there is virtue there friendship can develop. Where there is no virtue, friendships would waste away one’s life, if not destroy. Associations impact us in our tender age. Therefore, be choosy with regard to your friends.

The Rat and the Lion

A rat was being chased by a cat and took refuge in the lion, and the cat could not dare to come near to the lion. The rat was saved. It felt grateful to the lion and expressed its gratitude: ”Thank you for saving my life. One day, I will also save you and thus repay my debt to you.” The lion laughed at the little rat: “You will save my life?” The rat replayed: ”Please, do not take me for small. God has invested in me a skill which you don’t have. God permitting, I will repay my debt.” The lion continued laughing, so the rat left.In due course of time, the lion was moving in the jungle and was caught in a net. There were men who wanted him for the circus. The lion was desperate imagining the horrible life he will have from now onwards. But the rat came, and with his teeth it cut off the fiber of the net and saved the lion.

Anything can save anyone in this Creation. We are not complete even if the smallest thing is neglected.

Meditating upon the Three Dots of Saturn

Question: I ardently request Master to explain the symbolism behind the Three Dots of Saturn, and also the process of meditating upon these 3 dots as hinted by Master EK in one of his works.

Extract of Master EK’s statement - “Meditating upon the black dots dis-posed equilaterally and meditating upon the mantra of Saturn will cause beneficial effects in all planes. The lower saturnine nature in man will be very soon eliminated and substituted by the large scale benefits of the higher saturnine ray through great initiations. The mantra for Saturn is ‘Sham’ the leaf and the root of the Shami tree will soon rearrange the sa-turnine thought currents of man towards rapid development.”

Answer: The three dots equilaterally posited represent the three qualities in us, when they are equilaterally posited there would be an equilateral triangle established with respect to the three qualities in us. An equila-teral triangle is a symbol for the 3 qualities harmonized in us. We need Sattva, we need Rajas and we need Tamas. We need dynamism, we need rest and we also need poise. These are the 3 qualities that motor a being. Every soul is motored or driven by the three qualities, trigunas. One is Sattva, another is Rajas and the third is Tamas. Unless these three find their equilibrium, man cannot

enter into the initiations which relate to higher life. Generally men are not harmonized with respect to these three qualities. Sometimes they are very active, sometimes they are not so very active. They are overactive in some aspects; they are inactive in some aspects. They do not build a life of equilibrium due to certain life activities being excessively carried out and certain other activities not adequately carried out. In some aspects there is indifference, inaction or hypo action. In some aspects of life there is hyper action, contradictory to hypo action. Neither over activity helps or under activity helps. All activity has to find its equilibrium. There has to be equilibrium with respect to thought, speech and action. That is a triangle. Too much thinking, too little speaking, not acting is not a good triangle. Too much thinking, too much speaking, not acting at all or overacting is not a good triangle. Thought, speech and action have to take to a triangle. Likewise, our sleep, our activity and our rest; there should be relaxed periods during the day, there should be working hours and there should be sleep hours. There has to be equilibrium in relation to these three. Likewise there has to be equilibrium between body, personality and the soul. Nothing should be put to over activity, if something is put to over activity some other will slip into under activity. In a triangle when all angles are of 60 degrees each, then only it is an equilateral triangle. That means no angle is higher or lower than the other. That is the ideal trian-gle. Only such a triangle enables us to move beyond the three qualities. The souls are trigunatmikas. They are born out of three gunas (qualities). The Divinity is thrigunatheetha (beyond the three). All Divine activity is beyond the three qualities and functions through the three qualities. To them the three qualities are facility for entry into the world and to con-duct activity. For the worldly beings they are born out of three qualities which are not equilateral they are therefore to develop an equilateral tri-angle with respect to activity of poise, activity of dynamism and activity of sleep or inertia. When we tend to be too active, then there would be periods of non-activity. When you run very fast for some time, thereafter you will take rest for long time. If you do not run so fast, you don’t need so much rest again. The activity and inactivity can be equalized so that there is continuous activity, continuous even flow of activity.

44 Vaisakh News Letter 26/90 Vaisakh News Letter 26/9 0 45

That is where a Jeevanadi, a flowing river is given as example. There can be rivers which are in flood and later they are dried up, like Penna river. It comes in floods and other times it is dry. Likewise in some lives there is some huge activity and thereafter no activity; some periods of over acti-vity and some periods of under activity. In a day there can be lot of over activity for some time and under activity for some time. The over and un-der have to be balanced to be equal. They have to be equal so that poise prevails. So for poise to prevail these three qualities have to be brought under regulation. When two are regulated, the third is automatically regulated. When two angles of a triangle are equal, the third angle is taken care of. Therefore when the two angles are 60 degrees each, the third angle is automatically 60 degrees in a triangle. There can be a right angle triangle where one angle is 90 degrees, and the other two are equal angles of 45 degrees each. But more than a right angle triangle, equilateral triangle is good to manifest. Equilateral triangle is good to experience Be-ness. Be-ness is a state where the three qualities are neutralized because when three angles are of 60 degrees each, such a triangle enables the soul to go beyond the triangle of qualities. Beyond the triangle of qualities there is only the father and the mother or the male-female divinity. All that we call divine is beyond three qualities. Even the devas suffer from qualities. They are also overactive. Whenever they are overactive they receive the counter from the diabolics who are generally underactive. Tamas prevails over the diabolics, rajas prevails over the devas. When there is too much of rajas the diabolics will over-turn the devas. ‘ati sarvatra varjayet’ is a statement in Sanskrit which me-ans – “Anything excessive is avoidable.” Do not go too far with anything, have a balanced approach to everything. Moderation is yoga. Be mo-derate. Eat a little, sleep a little and work a little. Let all be equalized. Let not one take over the other. If any one takes over the other, then the other two will try to take over the one. The three brothers have to be equal. If they try to show one-upmanship, then the triangle is disturbed. So Saturn gives the clue for higher initiations through the initiation upon three dots that are equilaterally posited. Make a picture where you have three dots in equal distances, placed such that you can draw an equilateral triangle. Take the dots relating to

it and remove the lines of the equilateral triangle. You see the three and you see through the three. That is meditation. Where do you do that? You make the three points in the forehead - two dots on the temples of the left eye and the right eye, and the third dot on the top in the forehead, the third eye. • Left eye stands for the quality of tamas or the matter. • The right eye stands for the quality of dynamism or force. • The third eye takes to the quality of poise which is consciousness. Consciousness, force and matter - Satva, Rajas, Tamas.

That is how you have to take the three, Icha, Gnana and Kriya shakti. You can take any number of triangles – Maheshwara, Vishnu, Brahma. Left eye is Brahma, right eye is Vishnu and the third eye is Shiva. The three are equal because all the three emerge from the higher circle, from the one light called the Mother. The Mother is herself the expression of the Father. So she is as well the Father. The Mother is as well the Father – there are no differences between the two. When expressed the Father becomes the Mother. When Brahman ex-presses, it becomes Brahmani. She gives birth to the three hence she is also called brahmajanani and vishnujanani. The mother gives birth to the three qualities. So when you are through you are beyond the three. That is the higher initiation. For that initiation you need to close your eyes, visualize on the two temples of the eyes the two dots, the third dot on the top of the fore-head. Make an equilateral triangle, you don’t have to draw a picture the-re and keep looking in between the triangle. Don’t go beyond the three dots. Stay within the triangle and visualize that you are moving through that into the unlimited. Limitation is Saturn, any limitation or inhibition is Saturn. One could have an inhibition to talk to new people, or to be free in a new place. Inhibition is Saturn. It limits you. One is inhibited becau-se of the various triangles, which the primary triangle builds. There are 9 triangles – navathribujas. The Mother builds the whole crea-tion with the triangular force. The final triangle is over the forehead. So just look to the sky, close your eyes and through the triangle visualize that you are seeing the sky. Let there be a focus light coming through the triangle into you and lift you beyond the triangle. That is the meditation.

46 Vaisakh News Letter 26/90 Vaisakh News Letter 26/9 0 47

You can regularly do that uttering forth the sound ‘Sham’. When you utter the sound ‘Sham’, imagine that you are rising like a ro-cket. For Diwali we set rockets, let your rocket from Mooladhara, where you are, with each sound of ‘Sham’ move out through the triangle. It is like the snake coming out of the hole and flying into the sky. Consciously move with the sound from Mooladhara to ajna and move out. Let this be a regular practice in multiples of eight. Because eight are the conditioning triangle, nine is the divine triangle. That is why Saturn works with number 8. Number eight is nothing but a poornam twisted. Take a round, hold the bottom part and twist it. Then you get the number 8. We are twisted poornams. He twists it in the clock-wise direction, when you do this practice you rectify the twist in the anti-clockwise di-rection. When you close a bottle you move the cork in one way to close it; to open it you move it the other way. We are fixed through clock wise direction. We come out of fixation through anti-clockwise direction. Each time the sound ‘Sham’ is uttered forth, move along with the sound right from Mooladhara, which is the center of Saturn, beyond Ajna and get into the un-limitedness. Like that do 8 times and give a pause. Pause is poise only. And then again do 8 times and give a pause and again do 8 times and give a pause. That is enough – 24 times. If possible do it thrice a day. If you regularly do like this, with this knowledge, slowly the limitations in you start breaking; and your energy, awareness, thus moves from one limitation to the other overcoming them. This is a brief explanation of the symbol. In the recent times one person reached, has even overcome his limitations in such a manner by prac-ticing upon this symbol. He could even walk in to the ashrams of Lord Maitreya, Devapi, Maru and even Shambala. He could enter the ash-rams, experience the bliss of the great noble beings and give out an ex-pression of the reality of the presence of the great masters in Shambala, Kalapa, Shravasti caves of Himalayas. 24 years he lived in Himalayas and without exception he has met great masters. He has even met the yeti, the yeti who is also called the yaku in Tibet language who is 28 feet high and has a 7 feet long foot. It is popularly believed that it is hanuman. He could even see that and he made drawings about it. He was himself a prince from Russia, he preferred to move to Himalayas,

live in that wild climate. This prince with the help of 2 assistants and 2 horses has dedicated his life to contemplation upon the symbol of Saturn and accomplished what could not be accomplished, by physically getting into the most sublime ashrams of the planet and make pictures, paintings and bring them over. Such is the beauty of this mantra and the related meditation. The initiate’s name is Nicholas Roerich, a Russian prince. He even preferred to lay down his body in Shimla. His museum is in Shimla, so are his paintings. His house is there and he is also cremated there. And the best museum of him is today in New York. So he has one ashram in the East and one in the West. His paintings speak of the Hierarchy on the planet. This is an example in relation to the ones who worked with this symbol of ‘Sham’.

Capricorn

The Dawn and the Light of the Higher Heart Centre

The sign Capricorn is called "the Mount". In the year this month bears correspondence with the dawn. Capricorn is located as the higher acti-vity of the lotus between the throat-centre and the heart-centre. This lotus is called the seat of Narayana (the highest Spirit above creation). The lord within the chakra of the heart-centre is much different from the lord within the lotus of the heart. The spiritual student who is born in this sign has his path of direct yoga by meditating upon this symbol near his heart.

sound if we learn to listen and sing the harmonious sounds or mantras. The book also explains how we can enter into our respiration, reaching pulsation and the Soundless Sound. A practical guide to work with sound and speech for self-transformation.
