MKS Instruments introduces a new throttling pop- pet valve with integral pressure control. shut-off. and soft-start capability. The MKS Type 656 saves cost and valuable space by replacing up to three valves used irl conventional vacuum coating processes. The 656 is available in a variety of ISO-style flanges in sizes up to 100 mm and can be ordered with optional heaters to reduce effluent build-up, ultimately im- proving system uptime. It is compatible with the MKS type 655 Self-tuning Pressure Controller to provide precise closed-loop control of processes.

Leybold’s Deqotec coats door-lock sets and faucets with polished brass-colored layers--fast. durable, and highly productive. The Deqotec is a cluster system having a rotationally symmetric design. i.e., a trans- port system rotates around a common axis in a vac- uum chamber. Four process stations. two of which are used for different coatings, are driven in the rotational motion. The coating times are less than ten minutes. The coating chamber is 35 cm in diameter and 100 cm in height.
