Fixed Problems (19914)There was a phenomenon not to work any button such as

Simulate, OK and Cancel in the Dynamic/Kinematic Analysis dialog

after changing the simulation parameters such as the Maximum Time

Step and so on or just clicking the parameter tap since V8R2 official

version. This problem was related to loading the licenses of Colink and

Control Interface in the Toolkit Configuration Tool. Therefore, this

problem occurred if there weren’t these licenses. In V8R2 SP1.1, this

has been fixed.

RecurDyn/RFlex

Fixed Problems (19764) When making a RFI file by using RFlex Interface Selection

from I-DEAS, NX-Nastran and MSC-Nastran, the option to add the

Stress/Strain Shape has been supported. However, in V8R2 SP1, this

option had disappeared in this dialog. So, this bug has been fixed in

V8R2 SP1.1.

(19831) In RecurDyn Help, there was the wrong information regarding

the supported element list for generating the stress and strain shapes

in the RFLEX function until V8R2 SP1. So, the correct information has

been contained in the following path, Flexible/RFlex/Stress Shape

Interface/Generate Shape.

(18783)(17130) In V8R2 SP1, the function of generating stress and

strain shapes about a RFI file had been upgraded in Stress Shape

Interface so as to get more accurate results. However, there was a bug

concerning the unit converting problem related to the process to

orthonormalize the mode shapes when generating the stress and strain

shapes from a RFI file. So, in case of a small structure with a total

length of less than 100mm, the wrong stress and strain shapes had

been generated in V8R2 SP1. This bug has been fixed in V8R2 SP1.1.

(17130) In case of some elements supported by I-DEAS, there was the

problem not to average the stress/strain shape with respect to each

node on a RFlex body until V8R2. So, in V8R2 SP1, this bug has been

fixed when upgrading the function to generate the stress/strain shapes.

However, the bug related to No.18783 made the wrong results even

though this bug had been fixed in V8R2 SP1.

(19730)The Top/Bottom information of shell type elements of the

stress/strain shapes of a RFlex body has been added in RecurDyn Help

as followings. (Nastran : Bottom(Z1) stress, MID Strain, Ansys : Top

stress, Top strain, RecurDyn : Top stress, Top strain)

Fixed Problems (19503) Faces on a extruded body from a profile could not selected

using the mouse when creating a surface contact or a FaceSurface.

This problem occurred only at the body that the extruded body from a

profile was copied and pasted and then was moved using object control.

(19504) The user could not close Properties of dialog boxes of geo

contacts after opening using multi selection in the case that the value

of No of Max Contact Points is not same.

(19500) The user could not translate during drawing a line or a spline

at Profile mode.

(19530) RecurDyn crashed when closing Properties of dialog boxes of

sphere in cylinder contacts after opening using multi selection.

(19334) An error message appeared and the plotted curve disappeared

when changing the decimals on the y-axis if it zoomed in on plot.

(19487) (19495) The kernel error has occurred when closing Properties

of dialog box of spline if the value of x of the inputted point is same

with it of different points or is negative.

(19604) The value of imported gravity was incorrect when importing

the SDK file.

(19589) The user could not perform dynamic analysis when a sphere

and a cylinder have the same radius for Sphere In Cylinder Contact

since V8R1. It is possible when the radius of cylinder is greater than or

equal to the radius of sphere.

(19062) When the user uses 4 parameter expression, the user can get

correct translational velocity/acceleration and rotational acceleration. If

these expressions are used in the model, the simulation results can be

changed. Additionally, the solution can be changed even though the

user does not use some expressions because the incorrect 4 parameter

expression algorithm was used in RD/Joint formulation until v8r2

official version.

(19062) When entity is a marker in Scope Entity, the results of velocity

and acceleration were different from a body. In case of a marker, the

reference marker became the base marker and in case of a body,

Ground Inertia marker became the base marker. So, in V8R2 sp1, it is

fixed that Ground Inertia marker become the base marker regardless

with the type of entity.

(19381) When the user uses the “SENSORDETECTEDPOINT” in the

laser sensor, the velocity and acceleration value was not correct in

some situation.

(19641) Even though Parametric Point was defined to origin of

FaceSurface, relation between origin and PP was lost after the user

closed property dialog once.

(19612) The customized view operation did not work in the working

window after loading an animation in Plot.

(19639) The preview of patches was not changed when the user

changed Surface Type from Triangle to Quad after creating Geo contact

using "Surface, Surface" options.

(19541) "Auto Fit after drawing curve" option in Settings dialog of the

Draw group did not work after operating the Zoom function in Plot.

RecurDyn/ProcessNet

New Functions Durability Analysis

The interfaces for durability analysis have been added. Setting the extrapolation type in Spline

A method to set the extrapolation type in spline has been added.

Fixed Problems (19453) RecurDyn crashed when creating a expression using

ISubsystem.CreateExpressionWithArguments function with wrong

arguments.

(19393) The value of angle was set to the minus value depending on

the direction of second point when creating an arc guide.

(19653) RecurDyn crashed when performing the code of

"ISeries.Visible = false".

RecurDyn/Durability

New Functions Rainflow Counting

RecurDyn/Durability couldn’t have shown the Rainflow Counting results

to determine the stress/strain range, the mean stress/strain and the number of cycles from the defined time history until V8R2 official

version. From V8R2 SP1, the Rainflow Counting results can be shown in an Excel spreadsheet as a 3D chart automatically by clicking the

“Rainflow Counting” button after calculating fatigue results. Of course, the raw data to draw the chart can be shown.

Supporting the user-defined SN curve

RecurDyn/Durability hasn’t supported the user-defined SN Curve which

contains both stress/strain amplitude and the number of cycles since V8R1. However, in V8R2 SP1, the SN curve can be made by user input

data in a table. In addition, by using several functions such as Import, Export, Draw and so on, it is easy to make and modify the user-define SN curve. The user-defined SN curve can be applied to calculate the

fatigue damage and life, but it can’t be applied to the safety factors.

Fixed Problems (19330) The information about the material was not updated at the

XML file if the user modified it in Material Manager dialog of Fatigue

Evaluation dialog box.

(19330) In V8R2, in order to save the time to calculate the fatigue

results, it has been implemented to generate the output file for

stress/strain results on the center of free-face element such as *.dsrd

and *.derd. However, there was a problem not to reset these files

when performing the dynamic analysis again. So, the same fatigue

results had been derived even though the dynamic analysis had

performed with the different loading condition when not using the

option of “Create Output Folder” in the Modeling Setting. This problem

has been fixed.

RecurDyn/Engine

Fixed Problems (19056) The error occurred when performing an analysis a engine

model that a BC was defined with a body in a subordinate subsystem.

RecurDyn/FFlex

New Functions New subroutine functions for a nodal force

(18221) It is not easy to define complicated load for a node set using existing nodal_force user subroutine. So, RecurDyn supports a new function as nodal_force_ext user subroutine. If using the new user

RecurDyn/Solver did not evaluate the Jacobian, this can cause slow

solving speed. In order to enhance the solving speed, the Jacobian

evaluation was added in V8R2 sp1. This can cause the solution change.

Fixed Problems (19458) Contour results of the stress and strain about a body defined

the plastic material are incorrect if the value of Plot Multiplier Step

Factor in Dynamic/Kinematic Analysis dialog is more than 2.

(19534) RecurDyn crashed when clicking the Draw button in Plastic -

Isotropic-Kinematic dialog after the user set the Isotropic Hardening

(HI) to 0.

(18221) It is not easy to define complicated load for a node set using

existing nodal_force user subroutine. So, RecurDyn supports a new

function as nodal_force_ext user subroutine. If using the new user

subroutine, the user can define the various forces such as distributed

load.

RecurDyn/Mesher

Fixed Problems (18793) The position of CM and the mass for the meshed body was

changed after meshing a CAD geometry as Solid10 element .This

phenomenon is more conspicuous when meshing it small.

Fixed Problems (19454) In the case of XY working plane, a Linear guide could not be

selected using the mouse for creating a PGuide Edge guide if the Linear

guide overlaps with some body.

(19512) In case of defining a Parametric Point in the center of the

Flexible Fixed Roller, the position of joint included in the roller group

was not updated when changing the value of the Parametric Point.

(19640) When the user selects "Down" as the contact normal direction

and the arc guide radius is small, incorrect error message for the

contact buffer radius evaluation can be occurred in the solver. This

error control was improved.

(19345) Movement of guides was strange when playing an animation if

Rendering Mode is "Hidden Line Remove" and "Hidden Line In Gray".

RecurDyn/Particles

Fixed Problems (19536) RecurDyn could not solve the model if names of Particle Set,

Wall and Material were set with a multi-language.

RecurDyn/RFlex

New Functions Supporting to import stress shape and strain shape using Ansys

MAC file

Ansys MAC file for RFI file generation has been updated for importing stress shape and strain shape. Stress shape and strain shape can be added when the RFI file is generated from the Ansys outputs made

with the new MAC file.

Upgraded Functions Generating stress shape and strain shape

RecurDyn/Rflex has supported the function to generate stress/strain

shapes on a RFI file with just only mode shapes through the Stress Shape Interface. However, when compared with the stress shape and strain shape

generated by FE software such as NASTRAN and ANSYS, the accuracy

of stress/strain results by using the Stress Shape Interface had been low in the special area where the forces or the boundary condition are

applied. Therefore, in V8R2 SP1, in order to improve the accuracy the

stress/strain results in this case, RecurDyn has been implemented the modified stress/strain recovery method when using stress/strain shapes generated RecurDyn/RFlex.

And then, these results will be very similar when compared with the stress/strain results from a Rflex body with the stress/strain shapes

generated by FE Software

New Functions Geo Contact

The contact element for the general purpose has been added. This

element can be used in the case of rigid-rigid, rigid-flex, flex-rigid, flex-flex geometries.

User Define String

It is possible to define the string as a Subentity. This string entity can

be used in the user subroutine. Sensor Output Expression

The expression of "SENSORDETECTEDPOINT" has been added. Using this expression, the information of detected point by general sensor can be calculated.

RFlex Stress/Strain Request

It is possible to use the strain, stress of RFlex body in Request. Error message

The user can output a list of entity which has the biggest force, when the error message, "Stepsize is too small" is output.

CUBSPL Interpolation

The Cubic spline interpolation function is added in Expression.

Quadratic Extrapolation

The quadratic extrapolation option has been added in Spline.

Display Progress

The progress of current simulation is displayed by the % on Status Bar.

Elapsed Time

The elapsed time after starting a simulation is displayed on Status Bar.

Display RMD Export Time

The duration time of the generating RMD file when exporting RMD file

is displayed in Output Window. Display Converting Time

The duration time of converting from RMD file when simulating is displayed in Output Window.

Tooltip in Working Window

The Tooltip function which displays the general bodies, general

markers, and parametric points has been added. Auto fit when Working Plane Change

The Auto Fit when changing working plane function has been added. If this option is used, the screen view is optimized automatically when

changing working plane using View Change, Rotate Working Plane and Working Plane Change (Axis) toolbars.

Rotate Working Plane

The Rotate Working Plane function has been added to View Control Toolbar. The working plane is rotated by 90 degrees when using this function.

View Snap

The View Snap function has been added to View Control Toolbar. The current view is rotated to the Plan view or Isometric view of the nearest direction from the current view.

View Preset

The View Preset function has been added to View Control Toolbar. It is

useful to preset the view of window. General Interface

When the user double-clicks the PV, PP, PVC, PPC, Spline, Expression, etc. in Database, the selected items are highlighted in the open dialog.

Plot Drawing

It is possible to use the scroll bar to use the zoom function in the plot

drawing. Campbell Diagram

A new function has been added for plotting the transient Campbell diagram. This function is performed automatically the STFT(short

time Fourier transformation) process using time domain data and plots the Campbell diagram on the plotting window.

This Campbell diagram function will be much helpful for the system engineer who wants to analyze a rotor dynamic system using dynamic analysis data.

Body Color

RecurDyn supports 300 colors of body. The colors are applied randomly. This function will be set in Display setting.

Upgraded Functions Solid Contact

The contact force calculation algorithm has been improved by

evaluating more accurate contact plane and contact point. N-R type of a static analysis

The “Auto Convergence Factor” option has been added in the N-R type of a static analysis. So, it does not need to consider Convergence

Factor when performing the static analysis.

Export Data in Plot

The head style of the exported txt data from Plot was different from the data style. A space has been added to the data, so the header and

the data come into pieces when importing the txt data file to Excel. Shortcuts about Working Plane Change

Shortcuts have been created for all components in Working Plane Change. And, Shortcuts have been added for "Change to YX", "Change to ZY", "Change to XZ" in Working Plane Change (Axis).

Changing the default of joint creation method

The default option of creation method for Joint, Force, Connector is changed from the point selection method (Point) to the body selection

method (Body, Body, Point). Importing files

The multi-selection is available to the File Import dialog. So, it is useful to import lots of cad file.

Setting of Layer number about Ground

The user can define the layer number of Ground body. Until V8R1, the

Ground body has no layer number. Selecting all PPs and PVs for DP

The Check All button has been added to change the DP state of all PPs and PVs.

Changing the size of Deleting Unused Markers dialog

The Deleting Unused Markers dialog has been changed to the resizable

dialog and the default size is increased. Changing the size of Select Box dialog

The size of select box dialog is increased. So, it is easy to know the selected entity.

Renewing the Icon Setting dialog

The Icon on/off and Icon/Marker size dialogs have been integrated.

And the item state of dialog is applied in real-time without clicking the Apply button in the dialog.

Drag and Drop from Database of Plot to ProcessNet dialog

It is possible to drag and drop components in the Database of Plot to

the ProcessNet dialog. Language Selecting Tool

The Language Selecting Tool can change the language without an administrative right.

3 dimensional spline

The 3 dimensional spline has been supported in Spline.

New Format for road data

New format is available to create road data. It is easy to create with

user's own road data. Batch Simulation

Two commands have been added. /MatchSolvingStepsize [on/off]: Flags to use the Match Solving

Stepsize with Report Step option that is supported at the Dynamic/Kinematic analysis.

/ran [on/off]: Flags to create the RecurDyn Solver-Generated

Animation file Force Display Setting

The accessibility has been improved by adding the Force Display setting to the Animation Control group in the ribbon. The setting is

directly applied without applying the OK button or the Apply button. Gravity Setting dialog

The parametric value can be used in Gravity Setting dialog. So, it is useful to control gravity.

The point of recovering strain and stress

Recover strain/stress data is generated on the end of simulation. If the simulation is paused in the mid of analysis, the stress and strain can

be viewed by the contour. Graphic Quality up

The user can improve the graphic quality for each body by using the Advanced Graphic Quality option than using the basic Graphic Quality

option. This function is supported in the Properties of Body dialog box. Stress/Strain Expression

The 4th factor has been added to set Top/Bottom in the Stress/Strain expression. If the factor is not inputted, Top is used as the default

option. The use of the factor is followed by Flexibility Setting to V8R1. So, if the user uses V8R1 model, the result will be changed to Top regardless to Flexibility Setting because the 4th factor is not inputted.

(17746) Rotational CMotion Constraints

The stability of rotational CMotion constraints has been improved by changing the algorithm used to compute the Euler angles.

(19011) Use small data processing in Plot

The Use small data processing option was added as default and current setting in Plot. It is possible to fit the small plot data which are less

than 10e-5. (19138) Default light Setting

The default light setting was changed to represent more realistically in Shade Mode. This setting is applied to new created bodies in V8R2. In

case of models created in the previous version, the user uses the Get Default function in Light Setting after opening the model.

(14832) A distortion occurred because of the difference between the

screen ratio and the aspect ratio of the resolution in the animation

movie created by Plot. The view part of GUI has been modified to cut

materials can be used with Solid8 and Shell4 elements in FFlex bodies. The plastic materials make to consider the permanent deformation caused by the load over the yield stress. In addition, two kinds of work

hardening are modeled in RecurDyn’s plastic materials such as the isotropic hardening and the kinematic hardening.

FFlex Regenerator

The user can see the contour display of shell top/bottom without

The stress recovery routine has been upgraded. So, the result may be

select and delete the FDRs by the mouse operation in Database window.

Automatic Outputs for Markers

When applying Joints and Forces to a flexible body, the Output nodes

in the FFlex edit mode should be defined to check the results of neighboring node about the markers of Joints and Forces. The

inconvenience method was used to define the output nodes once more after the simulation if the user didn't set these outputs. In V8R2, the adjacent output nodes of makers in entities such as Joints and forces

are automatically defined using Automatic Outputs for Markers option in Flexibility Setting.

Creating Output nodes

Until V8R1, it was possible to select only node type when defining the

outputs. However, if the output was defined to the FE sets such as patch set, node set, element set and the boundary condition, it would

be inconvenient to define each node output. So, the definition method of Outputs for the FE sets to support by directly selecting the FE sets has been improved.

Selecting components of Stress/Strain for creating output file

Until V8R1, all components of Stress/Strain were created at the erd

and srd file. So, the size of files was big. In V8R2, only some components user wanted are created at the erd and srd file.

Import dialog

The user can import FFlex data at the reference frame of geometry.

Creating Patch Set

It is possible to create patch set by selecting a node set. The patch set

stress/strain results. Advnaced Mesh

Advanced Mesh is another auto mesher to make the mesh of CAD Geometry automatically like Mesh. The existing Mesh has the re-mesh

concept so that it can use the graphic tessellation date which is the first mesh results from a CAD geometry. So, this mesh uses the CAD

geometry indirectly and there is low failure to generate the mesh data. On the contrary, it is possible to generate mesh date with a relatively small number of nodes and the higher quality mesh results because

the Advanced Mesh uses the CAD geometry directly. In addition, it is possible to implement the similar mesh results from the traditional

Mapped Mesher that is usually supported in the FE software although this mesh can’t perform the general mapped mesh concept.

Fixed Problems (18522) The road normal vector and penetration was incorrectly

calculated in the Fiala Tire and the UA Tire.

FTire has been removed.

RecurDyn/Track_LM

New Functions Support Track Flexible Link

It is available to change one more Track Link bodies as Flexible bodies. Support CAD Geometries in Track LM

RecurDyn is now able to create the Track (LM) system with the user's CAD geometry (Sprocket, Flanges, Link)

Pin- Bushing Geometry Position

The left and right pins of the track(LM) link can be selected to calculate more accurate friction force of the sprocket with the link pin.

(11969) Contact output file

The contact points between the track-link and the sprocket are outputted as a file. The Contact output file option is supported in the

Sprocket dialog box.

Upgraded Functions Multi Properties about Ground

It is possible to apply multi properties about Ground with the Track To

Surface contact in the Track system.

Fixed Problems (18335) The Friction force of Track Road contact has been improved in

order to consider the static friction correctly.

(18422) The speed of the model is lower by the track to surface

contact than the contact between the link and the ground in a track

model with the same condition. Because the logic for updating the

patch information in V8R2 has optimized, the speed of the model is

faster than the previous version. But, the speed can be lower than the

contact between the link and the ground because the track to surface

contact is needed to update the location information of road at every

step.

(17188) When the contact force is generated between the track-link

pin and the sprocket, the contact point was not considered correctly. In

V8R1, the contact point was defined in the track-link pin's center. In

particular, when the friction force is calculated, the relative velocity in

the contact position can have a large error. So, the contact point is

correctly defined in V8R2. The contact point will be on the sprocket

surface and this will generate the correct friction force.

(18139) The contact between the track link and the roller flange was

not correct. The length of link was not considered.

(18259) In case of the partial search contact between the sprocket and

link, RecurDyn was crashed when performing an analysis for the model

that the contact did not occurred at the start time.
