3.44 Even now, a reasonable grasp of ICT is needed in education and employment, and it will become increasingly important to command ICT skills to

prepare for technologies of the future.

3.45 To argue against the importance of ICT in theprimary curriculum is to ignore the increasing

• We need to give time to pupils to learn these technologies in order to then use them to facilitate learning

• When pupils’ ICT skills grow, their focus will switch to learning via the tool, i.e. the tool now enhances the learning

• General:– videos of where you are stuck with H/W– teachers could post work during school closures– a blog per subject to help catch up / go over class notes / find out homework – podcasts would make cover work easier on snow days

• Science: – videos of experiments done at home

• Technology: – Videos of cake making to see different techniques

• Languages: – videos of teachers from foreign schools teaching some language

• Drama: – write a review of a play you went to see

• Maths: – video of how to work out the circumference of a circle
