calibration, and all print jobs and job workflow.

• Operator — has control of calibration and all print

jobs and job workflow.

• Guest — can only view current and stored jobs.

• To log out of a Fiery server, click Log out on the

slider shown below.

• Command WorkStation will automatically quit when

the user logs out of the last available server.

• To download PostScript files, PDF files, and fonts, use

the Utilities slider to click the Fiery Downloader icon.

• Connections to Fiery servers that are not currently

displayed with Command WorkStation may be

initiated when opening Fiery Downloader.

• Job ticketing information appears at the top of the

Queues and Archive windows.

• Job ticketing information may be set to include the

user’s PPD settings and Notes Field entries.

• Desired job ticketing information fields may be placed

in a custom order.

which send jobs to

specified queues —

DOWNHILL JOB FLOW: SPOOL QUEUE

• Displays jobs spooling to the Fiery to be printed.

• Printing to the “Hold” queue from a workstation will

cause the job to be held in the Spool queue (with a

yellow highlight). Such a job has not been ripped.

JOB STATUS BARS

• Coloring of Job Status bars in any queue indicate one

of the following:

White: idle/printed (in the Print queue), or waiting

to be ripped or printed.

Yellow: job is being held in queue

Light Red: a PostScript error has occurred.

Remove the raster data from a job—remain-

• Jobs may be custom-ordered by Title, User, Date, Copies, or

Size by right clicking on the desired field.

• Double clicking on a field reveals an Up or Down arrow which

designates order of “greatest to least” or “least to greatest”.

• To edit a rasterized document in window A, add (drag

and drop) similarly sized pages from Thumbnail B to

the document in Thumbnail A.

• Then click once on the Thumbnail A button to be

prompted to save the new document containing

added pages.

FIERY FREEFORM (available only on production servers)

• Fiery FreeForm enables the user to print variable

data documents.

• Each document has a Master file and a Variable file.

• The CWS user interface allows the operator to assign

identity numerals to Master and Variable files.

• Once Master and Variable identity numerals have

been assigned, Fiery FreeForm combines the

documents to create a final product.

Note: Identities may also be assigned as a printer

specific option on the user’s workstation.

• In the Queues window of CWS, select the job

comprising the variable elements of the document.

• Choose Properties from the appearing menu.

• Right-click the Use Master print option and choose

a FreeForm master document. Click OK.

• Right-click the same job and choose RIP-and-Hold.

• Once RIPped, preview the job in Thumbnail A.

• Right-click the same job and choose Print, rather

than RIP-and-Hold.

NAVIGATIONNavigation through Using Command Workstation may be accomplished in

several ways. To view a specific topic from the Home page, simply click its

icon. Each topic contains several pages of information. To move amongst

them, click the Last and Next buttons at the bottom of each page.

Access to much of the same information may be accomplished by clicking

areas of the Interface Overview page. Buttons for the Home and Interface

Overview pages are located at the bottoms of all pages.

PRINTINGJust as with most PDF files, Using Command Workstation may be printed

with the Print command found in the File menu of your viewing application.
