Anato‐mimetic and apparel friendly Aesthetic

The front of the Ushtara Polycentric Knee XR2501® is inten�onally designed to mimic the human Patella. When worn under apparel, the assembly is prac�cally indis�nguishable as a prosthe�c.

Special care has been taken in the design and manufacturing of the Ushtara Polycentric Knee XR2501® to ensure that fabric from clothes does not catch or tear in the normal course of usage.

Our CNC machines are capable of accuracies in the range of one tenth the width of a human hair. This ensures be�er fits for components which in turn means longer, more comfortable usage.

Because the aluminum we use for the Ushtara Polycentric Knee XR2501® is made hot worked and heat treated aerospace grade aluminum alloy, it is guaranteed to not deform or shear.

Adjustable return rate friction brake

To ensure that users ranging from the youth to the elderly, Ushtara Polycentric Knee XR2501® has an adjustable fric�on brake which can be customized to the users pace of perambula�on.

Adjustable extension dead stop with Shock Absorbing Polymer Stopper

Prostheses are prone to a clicking noise at the end of the extension phase. We have developed and adapted a specialized polymer stopper to the Ushtara Polycentric Knee XR2501® which removes this irritant.

The Ushtara Polycentric Knee XR2501® also gives you the freedom to control the end of extension phase.

Stainless Steel parts CNC machined from Medical grade,fully‐dense stainless steel alloy

In contrast to some of our compe�tors who use cast stainless steel parts, the Ushtara Polycentric Knee XR2501® is made from drawn and heat treated stainless steel. This ensures that it is 100% dense and free from defects.

Stainless steel Helical insert reinforced female threadson aluminum parts

Helical inserts (some�mes called 'Helicoils') are atleast 80% stronger than the aluminum they reinforce. This means that used correctly, the threads should last for a life�me, even when repeatedly assembled and disassembled.

Heat treated, Hard chrome plated and fine groundpivot pins

The Ushtara Polycentric Knee XR2501® is as comfortable in a paddy farm as in an urban home. Heat treated and hard chrome plated pivot pins in the assembly are corrosion and wear resistant enough to last for a life�me of hard use.

Dust and moisture resistant, German engineered,self lubricating bearings and washers from Igus®

Dusty and moist environments present to no challenge to the Ushtara Polycentric Knee XR2501®. This is because the self lubrica�ng bush bearings resist dust ingress and need no addi�onal lubrica�on.

Igus® is a world leader in Polymer bearings. Their bearings are used in applica�ons ranging from industrial automa�on to military hardware.

High tensile strength stainless steel fastners

Fully heat treated and corrosion‐proofed, cyclic tested springThe return spring in Ushtara Polycentric Knee XR2501® is one of the most highly stressed members in the en�re assembly. We have ensured that the spring is fully capable of handling these adverse condi�ons through development and tes�ng.

Engineered polymer spring force applicator

The spring force applicator in the Ushtara Polycentric Knee XR2501® transfers the spring force to the cam lever. Thus it has to have low fric�on and high wear resistance proper�es. To meet this requirement we have used engineered polymer spring force applicators. These are immune to dust ingress and moisture resistant.

Optimally designed cam lever Through an itera�ve process of tes�ng, the ideal cam profile for prosthe�c knees was determined. This profile has then been incorporated into the Ushtara Polycentric Knee XR2501® to provide op�mal return proper�es when moving from the flexion to the extension phase.
