5.1.2EnsureinductionstrokeprotectionofUPS
Lightening stroke is the natural enemy of all electrical equipments, so it must ensure the
effective shielding and groundprotectionofUPS against lightening stroke. Lightening strokemay
causeinductivehighpotentialpulseduetoelectromagneticinduction.Thehighpotentialpulsemay
enter into the UPS along with power line or communication line, while there are so many
microelectronicdevices suchasCMOS integratedcircuitmodulesandCPUused forcontrol in the
UPSwhichareverysensitivetoelectromagneticpulseoflightening,therefore,thedevicesarevery
easytobedamaged.AlthoughourUPShaseffectiveshieldingandgoodprotectiongroundmeasure,
user still needs to adopt lightening protection and overvoltage protection for power line and

Discharging requirement of battery: in general, the UPS is equipped with protectionmeasures for discharging of battery, but the battery will recover to certain voltage after it is
discharged so that the protection is powered off, and it is not allowed to restart the machine,
otherwise, itmaycauseoverdischargingofbattery.Thebattery shallbeusednormallyafter it is
