C series products are “Full Color Curtain Series” LED display, mainly applied in various indoor/outdoor stage lease. Thinness, good ventilate ability, quick hanging-up, able to be combined to various curvature, then meet customers’ needs of diverse creative stage design and super big screen combination.This series includes following pixel pitch: C7 (pitch 7mm), C9 (pitch 9mm) and C12 (pitch 12mm), unit casting cabinet is 600 x 600x 117mm.

Section 5: Installation Manual

Function● While cabinet turn on, LCD will show ABSEN logo and program version of LCM immediately. As following:

● Off-line test the cabinet display function without open cabinet door.

While pull off the net cable for unit cabinet, press “TEST” button to test cabinet display function. (Pure color / gradual color change / net / self-test).

● Detect the network signal transmission status in time.While whole screen connect well, if net cable input port of receiving card connect / transmit default inside one certain cabinet, the LCD monitor on that cabinet will show “LOST SIGNAL”. As following:

● Detect the circumstance temperature inside the cabinet in time and detect DC voltage of power supply in time. While whole screen connect well, after a while, LCD monitor will show “Voltage/temperature interface” all the time: show circumstance temperature inside the cabinet and DC voltage of power supply in time. As following:

If you press “FUNCTION” button, it will change to other function interface, last for 5 seconds on that function interface, then come back to previous interface.

● Record the total usage time in time.While LCD monitor is stable, press “FUNCTION” button one time, then change to “time interface”, it will show the total usage time, and last for 5 seconds. As following:

● Show program version of receiving card in time.When show “Time interface”, press “FUNCTION” button again, change to “program version of receiving card interface”. It show program version of receiving card, and last for 5 seconds. As following:

The information showed on LCD is synchronous monitored on computer.

4.2.9 Power SupplyFunction: Output DC 4.5V electricity to electronic components which need DC 4.5 power. Parameter: 400W,

DC4.5V, 80A. As following:

4.2.10 CablesAC power cable: Input AC electricity outside from the cabinet, connecting to AC input port of power supply inside cabinet. Function is transferring AC electricity.

Quantity: 1 piece. Specification: 3X1.5mm2.Power cable: Connect output port of power supply to power input port on HUB board. Function is transferring DC electricity.

Quantity: 2 pieces. Specification: according to Absen standard.Net cable: Connect signal quick-connect jack to net cable port on receiving card. Function is transmitting signal.

Quantity: 2 pieces. Specification: CAT 5, RJ45 crystal head, T568B standard network cable.Earth-Ground wire: connect the earth-ground electrode of PCB board to the earth-ground electrode of cabinet.

Function is ground connection for the whole cabinet’s. Quantity: 1 Piece. Specification: 1X1.5mm2, both ends with 2-4S O terminals.

Flash rate will be slower than usual.

5.2 Display Installation5.2.1 Flight Case

Note: Standard “Cabinet Flight Case” carry 6pcs cabinet, “Spare Parts Flight Case” carry hanging beam, cables, and spare parts. Open flight case, take out cabinet, hanging beam etc, as following figure:

5.2.2 Hanging Beam Installation5.2.2.1 Hanging Beam Connection

1). Loosen pivot pin and locking handle as following figure.

2). Align two adjacent hanging beams, tighten the pivot pin and locking handle.

5.2.2.2 Curve Hanging Beam CombinationNote: Before assemble curve screen, please pre-adjust the curve radian while assemble the hanging beam.1). Loosen the pivot pins and locking handle.

2). While pull down the lever pin, rotate the hanging beam. Hanging beam can be rotated backward and forward, and adjust to 20° (+/-10°).(When assemble square screen, set angle between 2 hanging beam zero. Then you will hear a clicking sound, and the curvature scale is 0°)

3). While rotate to ideal curvature, tighten the pivot pin and locking handle.

5.2.3 Display Installation5.2.3.1 The Upper/Lower Combination between Cabinet and Hanging Beam

● Upper/Lower Connection between cabinet and hanging beam1). Hold the upper & lower handle ① and ②, push up the cabinets and point to mating holes on the hanging beam. You will hear a clicking sound when connection in place.

2). Turn right the pin nut, adjust the gap between cabinet and handing beam. (It will also increase hanging beam’s safety)

3). Pull the safety plate to right. (It will increase hanging beam’s safety)

5.2.3.2 The Left/Right Combination between Cabinets (Square /Curve Screen)

While combine the left and right cabinets, you can adjust the angle according to screen shape, adjustable angle is +/-20°.Normally, we first set well the curvature connection of hanging beam. (Refer to 5.1 and 5.2), then adjust the curvature connectors on the cabinets, make sure their curve shapes are the same.

3). Pull the safety plate to right. ( will increase the hanging beam’s safety)

1). Respectively adjust the angle of left / right curvature connecting kit, to make sure side 5 coincides with side 6. Adjust method: loosen locking nut, pull up the balled-pulling pin, and slide it left or right to adjust the angle. The adjust method is the same for right curvature connection kit and left curvature connection kit. (When assemble square screen, set angle between 2 cabinets zero. Then you will hear a clicking sound, and the curvature scale is 0°)

6.1 Software Operation Flow

If the installation process is blocked by any anti-virus or firewall application, please select the option that allows the installation operation to do what it needs to do. Because what is blocked is usually the installation or update operation of the serial ports driver.

If there is no serial port driver on client’s computer or serial port driver version is too low, the installation program will automatically update the serial driver program on client’s computer, until it same as the version in the installation package.

Locate the CD provided with screen before installation. Open NovaLCT-Mars program package, download .rcfg file and play software NovaStudio2012.

Check the connection between system and computer is good or not. Check the sending card or sending box flicking normally or not.

Start to install operation software after check.

6.2 Set up Clone modeRight click mouse on blank space, pop up “NVIDIA Control Panel” window, as following figure.Select “Display” >“Set up multiple displays” > Select Clone mode > select computer monitor to be main display> click “Apply”.

6.3 NovaLCT-Mars controller installation

NovaLCT-Mars is a professional developed application for control and management of the Noval M3 series LED display control systems.

① Insert CD, locate NovaLCT-Mars control software package , double click it.

② “Language Select” > “English”> “Confirm”

③ Select “Next” or “Yes” in the coming dialog windows, until following window appear, click “Install”.

④ A new dialog window pop up, click “Finish”.

⑤ If your computer without serial driver program or the serial driver version is too low, the installation program will automatically update the serial driver program on client’s computer, until it same as the version in the installation package.

⑥ Select “Next” or “I Agree” “Install”, “Finish” in the coming dialog windows, to finish the USB driver and software installation.

After the first installation of NovaLCT-Mars, the computer will pop to its operation interface automatically. Or double-click the shortcut icon on the desktop to enter into the operation interface during daily operation.

① Double-click the shortcut icon on the desktop.

② Click “User (U)” > “Advanced Login(A)”

If only one USB or one serial port connecting computer to Nova controller system, the used serial port will be automatically set as the current serial port. Otherwise, if multiple USB or serial ports are used to connect control systems to the computer, the serial port that is used to connect the control system which is to be configured should be set as the current serial port.

Click “Next” > “Screen Config-Com?”

⑤ Click “Sending Board”, make sure the data of the sending card and the computer video card are the same. Reset the data if their data are not the same. As shown in following figure. Normally, default data is correct, no need re-set up.

Click “Save” after confirm the data.

⑥ Switch to the Scan Board page as bello wing figure, load file > Read to HW > Save

Setup “Screen Connection”: Set the index as 1 for the receiving card directly connected to aa sending card through Ethernet port and input values for other parameters. And then set the index as 2 for the receiving card which is connected to the first (index 1) receiving card and also input values for other parameter for the No.2 receiving card. According to receiving card connection sequence, do the same configuration operation until all receiving cards are set. As shown in bellowing figure for a screen 4X4, N connection type.Then click “Send to HW” > Save File > Save > Close

Send to HW: This is used to send the LED display configuration settings to the connected sending card.

Save File: This is used to save the LED display configuration setting to a.scr file.

Save: This is used to save the settings to a FLASH chip, “*.scr”. The saved data won’t be lost even the hardware is powered off.

Close: After finish above operations, click “Close”, exit “Advanced Login(a) mode, continue to other operations

⑦ Click “Screen Connection”

Screen Number: This is the number of LED displays that are to be configured.

Standard Screen: Manually set up the series type of receiving card, the load capability of each

receiving card can be different.

Location: This is the upper-left corner of a rectangular area of the computer display. The

rectangular area of the computer display is called mapping area. Content inside the mapping area will be

shown on the LED display. The default location is (0,0), which is actually the upper-left corner of the

computer display.

Sending Board Index: This parameter is used to specify the current sending card/ board.

Port Index: This is to specify which Ethernet port of the current sending card will be used for data output.

Scan Board Size: The pixel load capability of each receiving card (width x height). “Apply to port”: Set all receiving card connecting under this port with current pixel load capability.

Scan Board Columns/Rows: There are the numbers of columns and rows of the scan boards (receiving cards) array of the LED display. For example 4 X4 as above figure.

Reset All: This button is used to reset all cabinet settings and connection setting.

6.6 Nova Studio Play Software Installation Nova Studio is a powerful software features: capable of multiple LED displays application, multiple pages, page with multiple windows.

Do not install decoders. Test found that decoders may conflict with each other and thus cause errors when NovaStudio is playing videos.

2). Dismantle the faulty cabinet ① and its upper connecting cabinet ③. Refer to the step 2.1. Additional steps: while come to the final step, lift up the upper/ lower handle on the faulty

cabinet, to avoid the cabinet fall down. While faulty cabinet separate from the surrounding cabinets, carry the faulty cabinet down.

Note: The step of assembling the spared good cabinet is verse as dismantle steps.

Solution 3: After follow solution 1 and solution 2, if the problem still here, reinsert the receiving card. If the problem solved, that mean the trouble reason is the bad connection between receiving card and HUB board.If reinsert the receiving card, the problem still have, change a new receiving card. If the problem solved, that mean the trouble reason is receiving card damaged.

Trouble Reason 4: HUB board damagedSolution 4: If the problem cannot be solved after change module and receiving card, that means HUB board is

damaged. Change the HUB board.

Trouble Reason / SolutionTrouble Reason 1: the connection between cabinet ② and ③ is not good. Solution 1: Check the LCD on the back of cabinet, if LCD show “LOST SIGNAL” , the connection between cabinet

② and ③ is not good.Trouble Reason 2: The power cable connects to HUB board is loose / damaged. Solution 2: LCD monitor not light, open the back door, check and reinsert the power cable to HUB board. Trouble Reason 3: The AC220V power cable input to cabinet ③ is loose / damaged. Solution 3: Open back door, use multimeter measure the AC 220V terminal. If no electricity, please reinsert the

quick-connect jack to cabinet ③. (Before re-insert the quick-connect jack, please turn off the power for whole screen. Do not pull and re-insert the quick-connect jack while screen work).

Trouble Reason 4: The power supply in cabinet ③ is damaged. Solution 4: After operate solution 3, if the problem still not solved, open back door, use multimeter measure AC

220V terminal. If no electricity, please refer to 7.1.8 to change a new power supply.
