User Guide

Background • Over a year ago a cross functional team from Marketing, Strategic Sourcing,

Regulatory and Corporate Package Design participated in a Continuous Process Improvement Kaizen event to create TANGO for packaging services:

Improve the “PM to Market” process Streamline process Reduce rework of projects Insure complete information is provided

What We Learned• TANGO met and exceeded expectations and was deemed ready for exploration

in other Tyson areas• Current FoodService workflow needed to be updated and streamlined

Why are we here today• Demonstrate new CS-Concept/Campaign and CS-Deliverables

digital work flow systems that will replace current process

Why a new system• To provide accurate and timely project accountability• Create a more streamlined process

Why Change is Good• Leverages innovative thinking• Encourages one to evaluate current process• Identify and eliminate waste in your process• Optimizes current processes• Encourages problem solving

Why we chose this particular software• Fully integrated multifaceted digital workflow that is housed on Tyson Foods

server that allows for integration of 3rd party applications…SAP and GS1 compatibility

• System is utilized by over 400 CPG and pre-press companies Hanes brands, Hasbro Toys, Coca-Cola, Tyson Internal Packaging Services

and Autumn Graphics currently uses system Can be used by other groups in the company that are looking for a project

management workflow tool to support Advertising, Promotion, Asset Management

Why is it called Tango• Did not want to use another acronym• Tango = dance that has many varied steps, figures and poses• Creative development is a process that includes a multitude of stages and steps

What the Team did• Took our existing routing process into two individual digital workflows

• Through the use of routers a single workflow can be used across multiple project types

• Completed the project 16 weeks from first meeting with ESKO on May 20, 2014 using the dedicated Hitachi consulting team.

What will be changing• Project cannot start until project brief or creative brief is loaded into Tango

• Activity does not produce productivity• Project initiation page has been developed mimicking on-line ordering

Attributes fields with Red or Green asterisk are required Initiation page must have complete and accurate information Fields cannot be left blank or project will not move forward

• System has cascading fields that are tied directly to SAP• System provides structure and process around creative development • Workflow should encourage communication

If you do not agree with something call a meeting or pick up the phone Workflow does not allow you to reset your project

• All training will be handled with an on-line system and supporting documents

New Workflows

How do I determine what workflow is needed?• CS-Concept/Campaign

• Designed for big projects that require a theme or a campaign• Examples Include: MORE Campaign, Pizza Expo, Quarterly Launches,

TIP/ANC, etc.

• CS-Deliverables• Designed to handle deliverables associated with routine or individual

projects• This workflow will most likely be the one you select for typical projects

• Examples; Print Ads for MORE Campaign, putting course for Pizza Expo, Insights and Discovery Newsletter associated with quarterly launch, web banners, rebates, signage, etc.
