Australian Government in late 2000

FTA Objective
• WTO Rules: Violation of MFN?• WTO recognizes “the desirability
of increasing trade through FTAs,” requires that they encompass “substantially all of the trade” between the countries
• U.S.-Australia FTA should accomplish this
