Play is un and joyul, but its much more than mere amusementor centuries,

thoughtul observers have recognized that play is integral to both childhood andadult lie.

Play shapes our brains, opens us to new possibilities and makes us more adaptable

to new situations. Like nutrition and sleep, play is a central element in our health,

well-being, creativity and intelligence. In act, our success as an innovative culture

rests on recognizing the importance o play in our daily lives.

Play is more than jungle gyms and hopscotch. Great play areas grow out o theirenvironment; they interpret and educate the public about the unique nature o the

    local community.

Great play can happen in a park, at a corner, in letover space, on a street, in a

plazaas a part o any city space. Designing or play requires a deep understanding

o human needs and behavior, and environmental sensitivity.

MIG designs the public realm to enhance these great play opportunities, drawingpeople together, creating amily destinations and becoming catalysts or community

    revitalization.
