Dear Parents

I hope you are all refreshed after the Eid break. It certainly seemed to be have added an extra touch of

energy across the school as our students appeared very happy to be returning on Sunday morning.

As I indicated in a brief email just prior to the break, the DSIB will conduct its annual inspection of the

school from October 27-30. During this time they will focus on all areas of our operations with particular

i te est i tea hi g a d lea i g alo g ith stude ts’ p og ess a d attai e t. The e is usually a pa e t survey that is forwarded as well, and as soon as we receive this, it will be disseminated through the

oldest member of the family. I encourage you to spend the few minutes on line the survey requires in

order to provide feedback on the various areas. This feedback assists inform us on areas where we can

improve or where we can feel we are doing a good job. Each year, Uptown has been regarded as a Good

school with many Outstanding features. This year we are working very hard to clear the ultimate bar put

before us and achieve Outstanding.

What an absolutely brilliant level of support I witnessed from our community to the call for support of

There is much to look forward to over the next months. MYP camps, parent conferences, morning tea

gatherings and of course in December, National Day celebrations and Winter concerts. Rest assured, the

school has a busy hum about it and one cannot help but be positively caught up in the range of creative

a d sti ulati g a ti ities that a e o u i g a oss the a pus ea h day. It’s a g eat pla e to e a pa t of and your children are what make coming to work every day an absolute delight.
