RemembeRing Landsman gaRdensa celebration of three years of impact

shhh! there’s a secret about the Henderson center that only a handful of people know. it is the key to the center’s impact. Beneath the sunny paint coating the walls of the center lie hundreds of prayers. Before the paint was applied volunteers recorded their prayers by writing them on the walls.

as i look back at those prayers and look forward towards the center’s final 30 days, I am at a loss to capture the impact of those prayers. How does one tabulate the impact of a hug or word of comfort? By what system does one report the outcome of a whispered prayer or a high-five?

I have come to realize that we cannot. The center is not merely a building, but a movement involving thousands of lives. Whether it was a child that attended every day or a volunteer that served for one event, thousands of lives have a story to share about the center. In their hearts, our tale and god’s love is written.

Perhaps that is the best sort of story, one that is not written on paper that can be torn or lost, but on hearts that endure. As we bid these families farewell, we know that the tale of God’s love and our love will be carried into their new homes. We look forward to the next chapter of the center as we plan to open a new Henderson Center in June.

We would like extend an invitation to our inaugural Hearts for Hope ladies tea, benefiting Club Christ. In 2012, we are taking a break from our usual format and giving it a new name. We invite you to enjoy an afternoon tea filled with delicious food, raffles, silent auction, entertainment and other surprises!

the tea will be held at Warm springs Church in las vegas. tickets are available by clicking HeRe or by contacting Kendra at 460-3542. The tickets are not tax deductible, but donations are, as always!

evan’s Big dayClub Christ’s Executive Director, Evan Hartsell, married his sweetheart Vanessa on march 24. they celebrated their day with friends and family at south Hills Church. the wedding was Christ-centered focusing on prayer and god’s glory.

the couple will enjoy a two week break before returning to ministry. pray for this couple as they begin their life together.

• A possible Las Vegas site has been selected. Pray that God would make it evident whether it is his will.

• Pray for the families in Henderson as they continue to relocate. Pray for safe new neighborhoods and people to disciple the kids.
