(1.1.1) Curricula developed /adopted have relevance to the local/ national / regional/global developmental needs with learning objectives including program outcomes, program specific outcomes and course outcomes of all the program offered by the UniversityUpload description in not more than 500 words

The Board of Studies of P. G. Department of Computer Sciences designed and developed subject-wise course curricula as per the needs of the learners and local/nation/regional/global needs. And, the existing curricula are reviewed periodically to incorporate the required changes, as the computer technology is moving very fast. Therefore, this institution usually instructed the MCA students to choose a local/nation problem for their different projects, especially for their major project, which takes one full Semester. Furthermore, the institution also runs the iPHD programme where the Departmental Research Committee focuses on all local/national/regional/global developments of research areas. And, both of the parameters associate our students with local/national/regional/global developmental needs as per programme learning objectives. Needless to mention that all the courses offered in our institution, whether MCA, IPHD or Short Term courses in IT/C/JAVA/Interactive Multimedia are run as per UGC guidelines which itself proves that the Curricula meet the needs of local/nation/regional/global developments.

Furthermore, introduction of Open and Generic electives like Management Information System, Technical Communication, Computer Architecture, Optimization Techniques, Advanced Business Systems, Data Warehouse, Artificial Intelligence, and Natural Language Processing helps in making the learners aware of their social role. Thrust on extension services primarily focus on dissemination of knowledge, social service and character building. The institution’s thrust area is to impart education and training, which provide scope and access to various opportunities available in the social sector.

(2.3.1) Student centric methods, such as experiential learning, participative learning and problem solving methodologies are used for enhancing learning experiencesUpload description of student centric methods in not more than 500 words.

Quality education does not mean to just learn theories and practices of a subject, rather means to horne the minds of the students so that they can think accordingly and come up with new and innovative ideas. So that the students acquire the necessary skills and competencies which is required for living meaningfully in a competitive, global world. Therefore, for enhancing learning experience role of a teacher becomes very important. The student-centered approach mainly includes active learning, cooperative learning, and inductive teaching and learning.

The department undertakes the following student centric methods to enhance learning experiences of the students, in particular, and people living in a society, in general. (1): Presentations; teachers use presentation tools for delivering their necessary lecture so that students could understand a particular concept clearly and easily. As rightly said, “a simple graph can replace thousands of words”. (2): Interactive Sessions; teachers conduct interactive sessions, usually at the end of the lecture, so that students can ask question. (3); Projects; teachers usually ask students to submit small projects so that they understand the real mechanism behind the equipment’s, which in turn clear their concepts. (4): Programming; teachers show students the concepts using programming languages. (5): Case study; case studies are given to the students followed by the group discussions which helps them to learn about practical issues wherein students apply critical thinking.
