This was an interdisciplinary endeavor and involved consultations and approvals at the following Levels: Indigenous Education Advisory Committee, Certificate in Aboriginal Language Revitalization Advisory Committee, Faculty of Education (consultation with 3 units and faculty-level approval), Department of Linguistics, Faculty of Humanities, Division of Continuing Studies, Faculty of Graduate Studies, University Library, Senate Planning Committee, UVIC Senate, Board of Governors, Teachers Regulation Branch, and the Ministry of Advanced Education. This required approx. 25 presentations and 50 meetings over an eight-month period. The development of these new credentials was the work of many hands, hearts and minds and it was a tremendous privilege to see them through to fruition. 10.
