The examination system of the University is based on theory and practicalexamination both.University is conducting various courses/programs which are based on bothAnnual and Semester patterns, as prescribed by the related regulatory body.

Annual Pattern-• At the end of every academic year Theory Examinations & Practical

Examinations are conducted.• During the academic year there is a pattern of ‘continuous assessment’ in

order to evaluate student’s academic performance continuously in acourse.

• Depending upon the programme of continuous assessment is done, givingweightage as described in the Ordinance of the University in the total scoreof a particular course.

• Within six months of declaration of main examination results, asupplementary examination is conducted for those failed students toenable them to clear the arrear paper/subject.

• University follows absolute marking system for evaluation.• The basic structure and content of each academic program is prescribed by

the respective Board of Studies and approved by the Academic Council ofthe University.

• The Projects and Dissertations are evaluated by Boards of Examiners asstated in the Ordinances of the University and by the Regulatory bodies.

Semester Pattern-• At the end of every Semester theory Examinations & Practical Examination

are conducted.• During the academic year there is a pattern of ‘continuous assessment’ in

• All the question paper settings are based on the blue – print approved bythe Examination and Result Committee.

• All the question papers are set by a panel of qualified college anduniversity teachers proposed by the Examination Committee, duly andapproved by Hon'ble Vice Chancellor.

Question paper setters,invigilators and evaluatorsare appointed as perstatutory norms of theUniversity.

As per the statute number 14 of Swami Vivekanand University, Examination andResult Committee has the following composition and function:1) The board of examination of each subject shall consists of the followingmembers:

a) Dean of faculty by rotation – Chairmanb) Head of the department - Memberc) Two senior most teachers of the department (other than the HOD.) - Member

2) Examination committee shall recommend to the Controller of Examinations thename of examination, question paper setters, moderators and examiners ofdifferent subjects. Vice Chancellor will have the right to add or delete names in theproposed list.

The university follows the following admission process to all courses, if otherwisespecified:(i) The university will issue the admission notification on the University’s website,

in news papers, notice board of the university and in other publicity media beforethe commencement of every new academic session.(ii) The intake and fees for each of the courses shall be decided by the Board ofManagement of the University in accordance with the norms of the regulatorybody concerned from time to time, intimating the same to the regulatory body.(iii) List of candidates provisionally selected for admission/short listed based onmerit will be displayed on the notice board of University and University’swebsite/ or the student will be informed directly for their admission after the expiryof the last date of application.

VII. Board of Studies

The Composition of Board of Studies as follows:-

(1) There shall be a Board of Studies for each Subject Comprising of :-(a) All the teacher of the concerned subject.(b) Two members to be nominated and co-opted by the Department, from outside

the University, from academic/Industries after approval of Vice-Chancellor froma panel of five persons.

(2) The Head of the Department shall be the Chairman of the Board of Studies provided.(a) That the term of the chairman shall be three years, and after expiration of the

term, the next/senior most Professor/Associate Professor shall be Chairman ifthe term in not extended.

(b) If there are more than one Subject in the department, the senior mostProfessor/Associate Professor shall be the chairman for Board of Studies of thatsubject: in accordance to above (a).
