Universal Design for Learning (UDL) provides educators with the foundation to build and develop curriculum that is flexible with it learning devices and strategies, but offering the maximum opportunity to achieve an equitable education and reducing the education road blocks that can stand in a students way (NCUDL, 2011).

UDL approaches to instruction and curriculum development provide flexibility in the presentation of information, multiple ways for students to demonstrate knowledge, and diversity and choice in the content of lessons and assignments to support students diverse interests and learning styles (NCUDL, 2007)

Recognition: (What) Identifying/recognizing patterns, letters, colors, words, pictures, while linking or applying meaning. (tactile or auditory stimuli maybe be used for recognition)

Strategic: (How) learner can accomplish goals or by monitoring and following through on actions. Development of critical thinking skills, writing, listening, problem solving within the academic learning environment.

Affective: (Why) provide motivation for student learning and success based on individual students: ethnic, interest, cultures, learning styles, hobbies, IEPs, personal successes.Promote Lifelong LearningYou can develop lifelong learning traits with UDL:By showing curiosity about Setting Goals and Time Management.
