Legal Services Clinic:The Unitedworld School of Law under the aegis of Gujarat State Legal Services Authority and with the Cooperation and support of Gandhinagar District Legal Services authority has set up “Legal Services Clinic” for free and competent legal services to the residents of surrounding villages at its college campus, Karnavati University, Uvarsad. The ceremony was inaugurated by the Hon’ble Mr. Justice K.S. Jhaveri who was the Chief Guest of the function on 22nd February, 2015.

The main objective of this clinic is to entertain the needs of the poo and needy people in the neighbouring villages.

As is evident Legal Services Clinics are intended to provide easily accessible but free and competent Legal Services to the large population living in and around Uvarsad village which is one of the thrust area as envisioned by the Unitedworld. The Gandhinagar District Legal Services Authority will periodically send their panel advocates to provide free legal advice to the people. Moreover the student volunteers will be also attempting to resolve the disputes of the people in the locality thereby preventing the disputes from maturing into litigation reducing the burden upon the already overloaded courts.

Compulsory/ Progressive Internship: According to Sec 25 of The Schedule III (Part IV) of The BCI Rules each student enrolled in BB.A.L.L.B. shall complete internship of minimum of 20 weeks during the entire course. The University assists students in engaging Internship Program at leading Law firms, NGOs, Advocates and Judges across the country.

FEATURES SALIENT

Teaching Pedagogy: The teaching pedagogy adopted for the Degree programmes are such as to promote multi-disciplinary inquiry and practical appreciation of problems. The method of teaching involves lectures, guest speakers’ series, discussions, law research & case studies, moot courts, trial advocacy, exposure to corporate & international practices and project work.

BCI Approved Curriculum: Curriculum is designed in accordance with Bar Council of India (BCI) norms and regularly updated.

Mentoring: The professional mentoring is by learned legal luminaries that include distinguished academicians, Honorable judges and learned lawyers.

Visits: Practical exposure through Moot Courts, District Court and Legal Aid Clinics visits.

Online Database: UWSL has subscribed to online data bases such Lexis Nexis, Manupatra. Sessions on access to them are regularly conducted.

Competitive Examinations: Curriculum is designed to facilitate students in preparing for various competitive examinations.

Value Added Courses: In addition to core curriculum, other courses offered l i ke Tal ly, Debat ing sk i l l s , counsel ing sk i l l s , communication skills, research skills, drafting skills and soft skills to enhance personality and employability by leading professional experts.

Clinical Courses: The courses on Clinical Legal Education are taught by integrating classroom teaching with simulation exercises. And in order to foster debating and advocacy sk i l l s in the young budding legal professionals annually following competitions are been proactively included in the operation of the academic programs.

Moot Court Hall:The law school has a dedicated Moot Court Hall Specially Designed like a courtroom for conducting competitions and debates. it would aid students in perfecting their legal, analytical, research and writing skills like that of elite attorneys.

B.B.A. LL.B., (Hons.) 5 Year Integrated Programme provides an integrated understanding of the interrelationship of Management Studies and Law in their entirety than in specified areas. Law graduates are no longer limited by the option to choose litigation as their profession.

There are many exciting opportunities for them in the corporate system, which include roles such as legal associates in law firms as well as in-house counsels in
