United States Regions Map Activity:Teacher’s Guide

State Research Projects:The coordinating region from this resource can be found in thestate research projects in Elle Madison’s TpT store. A huge,complete resource has been customized for each of the 50states. To find your state, go back to this freebie’s listing, andclick on the link in the description.

Industries:For each region, discuss the major industries and crops. Studentsshould take notes on how these resources impact the UnitedStates as a whole.

Landmarks:Have your students locate pictures of historical landmarks in eachregion. They should include important facts such as the date it wasestablished, the purpose of its creation, and important peoplewho worked on the project.

Pacing Schedule:Take 5 days and complete one region each day. Discuss as much asyou can about each area. Use video sources to add interest to thelesson. Show your students pictures/illustrations of scenes fromthe regions 100, 150, and 200 years ago. Then, have them writeabout what their lives would have been like in that time period.

Cover:A cover has been created so that you can make this a stand aloneproject. Include in it all the maps plus any notes that have beencompleted. Organize according to region. Simply staple everythingtogether or keep them in a bradded folder. This makes a for afun keepsake project to send home!
