WHAT TO EXPECT: In this class, we will: (1) Go see (5) five plays (2) You can go see the plays on your own or (if there are enough students) as a group (3) Our play going will be supplemented by lectures, readings, and assignments posted on Blackboard. Who takes this course? (1) ACC Drama students (2) ACC students from other departments who need a Fine Arts Credit (3) Anyone interested in going to see and learn about plays! What is the goal? PLOT - MYTHOS - structure of incidents or the structure of actions in a drama - Elements of Plot include reversals, recognition and suffering - The best plots should be complex and involve a change in fortune and arouse both fear and pity - Actions should be logical and follow naturally from actions that precede them - Story is what happens and plot is how it happens 11.
