Function, sectionValves of type WM.. are mechanically, manually operated di-rectional spool valves. They control the start, stop and direction of a flow.These directional valves basically consist of housing (1), an actuatingelement(2)(rollerplunger,handlever,rotaryknob),control spool (3), and one or two return springs (4).In the non-operated condition, control spool (3) is held in the central or initial position by return springs (4) – in the case of rotaryknobactuationbyadetent.The control spool (3) is shifted to the desired spool position by means of the actuating elements.DetentDirectionalvalveswithrotaryknobaregenerallydesignedwith a detent. Directional valves with hand lever are option-ally available as 2- or 3-position valves with detent. Direc-tional valves with roller plunger are generally designed with-out detent. When actuating elements with detent are used and depending on the valve type, every spool position can be locked.Throttle insertThe use of a throttle insert is required, when, due to given op-erating conditions, flows can occur during the switching pro-cesses that exceed the performance limit of the valve. These throttles are to be inserted into the P-channel of the di-rectional valve.
