Lesson summary:
In this lesson, students will cover the topic of jobs in Korea, specifically what are considered ideal jobs for the younger and older
generations. Students will be able to see how much society impacts what both Koreans and Americans consider to be an ideal job and
how these jobs compare between countries.

job as a kid in the rows and
for the column titles, write
“Me” and “Parents”.
Have Ss fill in chart then
share with the class.
Think of what they wanted
to be when they were a

In groups of 4, draw a table
as modeled by the
instructor on their poster
paper.
Fill in the chart and discuss
with their group members
what their ideal job was,
why they thought it would
be the best job, and what
their parents thought.

Ask Ss to name some of the
professions they have seen
so far in the drama.
Put up pictures of 6 main
characters from the drama
and their matching

pronunciation and using

of 6 and pass out the same
character cards.
Have each Ss choose one
picture and if they think it is
more popular with the older
or younger generation and
why. They should form
their answer alone first.
