I 1) Yes, I think a “witch-hunt” like this goes too far. It is true that she did something wrong. She should have cleaned up the mess her dog had made. However, what she did was not a crime. At most, people could blame her for being a person without any sense of public morality. I don’t agree that they should have hunted her down and revealed her personal information online, especially since this finally forced this girl to drop out of school. In my opinion, this kind of punishment was just too severe. Additionally, netizens are not judges; they have no right to judge this girl from this single incident. If they were angry with the girl, they could have reported this case to the proper authorities, so that this girl could have been fined for polluting.
