Word Formation
Many words combine with –ful if you want to describe
something that possesses that quality (useful, tasteful),
or –less if you want to describe something that lacksthat quality (useless, tasteless). Although many words
can combine with both –ful and –less, there are some
that only fit with one or the other (delightful, stressful,
wonderful, endless, homeless, relentles)The suffi –ish is in between. !t means that it possesses
a little bit of the quality.
