But ultimately, it boils down to this: they can handle it themselves or they can use outside help. There are many different models in recruiting between the classic divide of retained executive search and contingency search. This in-between world has seen buzzwords come and go- recruitment research, recruitment process outsourcing (RPO), sourcing, sourcing research, well… you get the idea. That’s why we developed our Project Parameters and Key Field Questions-see how our talent is a match at a glance before you even look at their resume... One of the core features of Unisource NTC success in filling our clients open positions is the Project Parameter form. It is developed with the client to act as not only a job description, but a document that clearly zeros in on the skills and responsibilities needed for a potential candidate to be considered a match for the open position. Besides listing proposed salary ranges, information about the company, its history and reporting structure for the position, the Key Field Question section of the Project Parameter form gets down to specifics.

These Key Field Questions are carefully agreed upon by the client and Unisource NTC. These questions are easily answered by Yes or No, but specific enough to designate that these interested contacts are performing the necessary functions, duties and responsibilities that are required for your position. A person is not considered a qualified and interested (QI) contact, unless they answer in the affirmative to all questions proposed by Unisource NTC.

An example of a Key Field Question section might look like this:

1. Do you have current experience with designing and implementing large software systems with particular attention to wireless applications?2. Do you currently Implement all product-marketing requirements in a robust, flexible, extensible design ?3. Are you able to translate the object model into CORBA/EJB/RMI objects and interfaces ?4. Do you currently estimate the time required to code components and set mini-milestones for projects ?5. Are you able to code the critical or most difficult components ?6. Do you currently tune and optimize code ?7. Do you currently assign programming tasks to a team of engineers ?8. Do you currently review code written by team members ?9. Do you currently teach and mentor junior engineers to write high-quality, production code ?
