Amoeba
• Discovered by August Johann Rosel von Rosenhof
• Eukaryotic protozoan
• Obtains food through phagocytosis
• Single large tubular pseudopod at the anterior end
• No permanent organelles or supporting structure
• Contains one or more nuclei and a single vacuole
• Reproduce asexually via mitosis and cytokinesis

Practice
• Practice science at least onceper week.
• Memorize basic information early

Practice (cont.)
• Where do I start in the content?
Start at the beginning
Can’t cover everything in a year
Have to rely on what they learnedin class
Keep stats during quick recall practice
Analyze the stats for trends
Devote time to weaknesses
Keep more stats
Choose materials to address those weaknesses
Give written assessments early
Analyze results by topic not just score
Name Matter Motion/Forces Energy Earth Science Solar System Science Tech. History Total

• “I went over this with you last month!!!”
I have said it too, but you have to goover it multiple times
Come back to the topic often
