Overthrow and everyone is awarded one base.◦ Talk to the coaches before the game and talk

about where the out of bounds is on the fields

◦ If it is touched by a parent or goes near where the parents are sitting it is a dead ball

Everyone advances one base Batter gets first

No inning may start after an hour and 45 mins of play

Look at your watch and add 1hr 45 mins to whatever time the game started

If it gets dark outside then use your judgment – use common sense!

Awarded a free base Catcher’s Interference – remember, the kids

are in 3rd grade so once again use common sense!

YOU ALL MUST DO THE FOLLOWING◦ Wear an Umpiring Shirt from either this year or

last year if you have on◦ Wear dress pants or Kaki shorts only. They must

be a plain color◦ Shirt MUST be tucked in◦ Hats MUST be facing forward◦ Bring the ball bag, indicator and brush◦ Index card – keep score

Leading Stealing Bunting

Each team will be given one warning for a bat throw, and any child who throws his bat following his team’s warning will be called out automatically.

Each team gets a separate warning

Throwing a BatThrowing a Bat

If lightning should strike, teams will clear the field and wait 20 minutes before attempting to resume the game. The game will only resume if the umpire determines the field is playable.

If it is raining you are allowed to play YOU MUST SHOW UP AT THE FIELD UNLESS

OTHERWISE TOLD BY EVAN OR MYSELF THAT THE GAMES HAVE BEEN CANCELLED. If the games were not cancelled you get paid regardless of weather the game is played or not. Wait 20 minutes and if no one shows up you can leave. Call Evan or myself ASAP if you are at a field and no one is there

The strike zone is from the knees to the shoulders, and then extended off the plate so that the tip of the bat can reach the ball. If a pitch is close, the best idea is to call it a strike so that the game can keep moving and so that the kids learn to swing the bat.

When fathers are pitching there are strikeouts only on a swinging third strike. In addition, there are no called strikes when fathers pitch.

There are no balls when father’s pitch A father may stand anywhere but if a team

complains simply ask the father to move back a couple feet to the pitcher’s mound
