Can you explain how you trained for Everest?Did you do any crampon/glacier walking on Kili? Howmuch training every day did you do?For two months o Feb and March I only swam six

times. Ater Christmas 2011, I planned to enroll at

the gym or more leg exercises and a bit o upperbody training but I couldnt because I had a hard

    time nding sponsorships.

I had only ve months to raise $100,000 and to

train to climb worlds highest mountain. Some

people thought I was crazy and I would never

succeed. In the end I managed to get sponsorship

rom the UK, Saudi Arabia and the US along with

    additional support rom Adventure Consultants

who provided me with the critical mountaineering

kit (boots, ull down body suit, mittens, sleeping

    bag, etc.).

So long story short, I didnt train. I ocused on

raising unds or my trip, which I sometimes I reer

to it as an Everest prior to Everest.

What was the one thing you missed from your homewhile you were away and high up on Everest?I dreamt o my amily during the difcult sections.

And I dreamt o my normal ood at home

especially when we were living on canned and

    packet ood.

Whats next? I heard you are keen to do the other 5 ofthe 7 summits?Yes, I am keen to nish what I have started

which will make me even stronger by achieving

all my goals but rst I am looking to cover

some o the costs I incurred or my Everest

expedition. Thereater, I will be looking at Elbrus

and Aconcagua. Maybe I will become the rst

Tanzanian to climb all 7 summits.
